Brain Ache EP by Brain Ache Released 2005 by Brain Ache
1. Say Or Do
2. Brainache
3. In My Prison
4. Faded Memory
1. A long drum beat intro before the guitars join in. Nice mellow vocals to start the track, a slight criticism now - the vocals could do with being a bit louder at the start, as they are drowned out to a certain extent by the instruments, but when you can hear them properly they are really good and clear. This is a nice catchy track though and once the vocals hit the right level they are great. The guitars and drums are excellently played with some great riffs and strumming. All round this is a great track.
2. An acoustic intro on this track, before we are hit with more great , loud,
crashing riffs and good loud vocals. A constant beat throughout along with
good lyrics and an almost ‘bouncing’ feel from the instruments.
Some really heavy riffs blast in half way through the track before we are
hit with some ‘Adam Ant’ lyrics, a real nice touch there guys
! I like this track loads.
3. A very mellow, almost floaty sound at the start of this track, that builds
to a heavier beat before the soft vocals come in (this time the vocals are
not ‘drowned out’ by the instruments) All of a sudden you are
hit with much heavier ‘metal’ vocals that blend in so well with
the softer ‘whispering’ vocals. There really is a great mix of
different sounds on this track that blend beautifully. You are also treated
to some great ‘machine gunning’ riffs that catapult you into the
screaming metal voice that ends the track. I would say this is the strongest
track so far on the Ep.
4. We are taken back to the metal sound for the intro of this track , with
dual harmonizing vocals, one soft and one almost talking, but at the same
time it has that nice ‘metal’ feel. This track has been mixed
really well and has an almost stadium metal feel to it. A great one to end
with.
