Keep Music Miserable by Lowgold Released August 2005 by Dedted Records
What can I say about this album ….. basically the title sums it up,
29 tracks that seem to be written for the pure intention of making you want
to run away and slit your wrists !
2 cd’s of absolute rubbish as far as I’m concerned. Track after track of the same depressing sounds. Lowgold have never been known for their happy tunes but this album really goes to the extreme.
Eddie Lejeune (Cd1 T9) has some
nice guitar chords but is still really depressing.
Miles is my favourite (Cd1 T13) is a more upbeat funny track but unfortunately
it is only 50 seconds long !
I’d rather fuck up than miss out (Cd2 T1) is a heavier rocky track but
it’s not enough to save this album.
Atlantic Pacific (Cd2 T9) has some great guitar work but no vocals, maybe
that is what makes it worth mentioning.
Absolute Exocet (Cd2 T14) Is a bit of a surprise, really heavy rock sounds
blast out at you, very reminiscent of the 70’s rock stadium sounds.
Fast and furious playing and again no vocals ! But unfortunately it is only
one and a half minutes long. The whole album should have followed this theme.
It’s not as if the band members have no talent because they do. They have a great vocal ability and a nice voices, they just need to use them to produce better tracks. Instrumentally they are perfect as is clearly shown on Absolute Exocet, so can someone please explain to me why they have taken the time to produce a double album of 29 tracks of (almost) pure rubbish ?
