GuilFest 2009

Well as the sun sets on GuilFest 2009 I think the organisers can congratulate themselves on yet another sucessfull year. With huge crowds topping 20,000 on Saturday and smiling faces, GuilFest 2009 was indeed a fantastic festival to be at.

With Motorhead returning to the festival after 9 years to play to a packed crowd on Friday night and YouMeAtSix filling the Rock Sound tent to capacity there was truley something for everyone whatever your musical tastes. There was also a very high level of entertainment in the Comedy tent as well as a plethera of new talented acts throughout the Accoustic Tent, the Surrey Advertiser Tent and the Ben Sherman Tent.

Dispite the occasional rain shower nothing could put a dampener on GuilFest 2009. The food and merchandise stalls doing a great trade, especially in the emergency ponchos and the wandering entertainers certainly kept the smiles on peoples faces.

The Kidzone was another huge sucess again this year with toddlers and younger children having fun with bouncy slides, fairground rides, hair brading, face-painting, clay modelling and a stage offering entertainment with clowns, puppet shows and everything else to keep them occupied.

For those festivals goers that still had the energy after the music had finished each night there was a wide range of activites to choose from, from the Farmer Giles Barn Dance to the 70's Disco tent you could always find yourself something to do.

When you had finally had enought excitement for the day you could head back to the campsite which was well laid out and filled with toilets and showers and a tent offering hot drinks and hot food.

Roll on GuilFest 2010.
