30/04/2008 LATIN DUB SOUND SYSTEM ADDED TO SUNDAY¹S BIG TOP LINE-UP AND DUFFY¹S TOUR DJ
TO DROP AN EXCLUSIVE SILENT DISCO SET OF NORTHERN SOUL

Wychwood Festival 2008 is delighted to announce the line-up for the third
stage, the Wickwar stage, in full. In partnership with Halifax-based
promoters The Doghouse, Wychwood Festival will not only be showcasing the
best of local upcoming and unsigned talent but smashing down the north south
divide by bringing the best in northern talent to the festival, which takes
place from 30 May to 1 June 2008 at Cheltenham Racecourse. Hailed as the
best of the boutique festivals by the UK media, Wychwood Festival has
established itself as a truly family-friendly outdoor music festival, with
its unique blend of music, dance, arts, comedy and workshops.

In keeping with Wychwood¹s eclectic musical make-up, the Wickwar Stage
showcases everything folk, blues and country through to indie, rock and even
hip-hop. Bands from across the north of England and as far North as
Scotland, which includes The Black Bloc, Air Cav, Breaking The Illusion, The
Steals and winners of this year¹s Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent
competition The Travelling Band, will join a host of acts from the
festival¹s surrounding counties. The Doghouse is a monthly music night that
takes place in Halifax and began in March 2005 by founders Michael Ainsworth
and Shack. The Doghouse ethos resonates closely with those of Wychwood¹s; a
love of interesting and exciting live music, a firm belief in public service
and promotions that benefit the community including family friendly events.
Having thoroughly enjoyed Wychwood 2006 and raved about it to all his
friends, Doghouse promoter Ainsworth returned to the festival in 2007 where
he was struck by inspiration after one or two drinks in the beer tent which,
he duly noticed, was lacking any music of it¹s own. Promptly Ainsworth
offered to provide a line-up for said beer tent over the three days of
Wychwood 2008, bringing with him the best of the bands he knew from his
Doghouse nights. The full, three day Wickwar Stage line-up is as follows:

"We all have different and wide tastes in music and Doghouse puts on
anything from ska to low-fi to alt-country, folk, electronica, hip-hop and
alternative rock, often mixing styles on the same bill. The line-up we have
selected for the Wychwood stage reflects that approach with a distinctively
Northern feel as all the acts are from there² Michael Ainsworth commented on
programming the Wickwar Stage. For more information regarding The Doghouse

Dub Sound System¹s beat-laden funky grooves are sure to get the crowd in the
right mood for the Silent Disco, which follows them that night. Talking of
the Silent Disco, Welsh songstress Duffy has offered her tour DJ to Wychwood
Festival and he will be dropping a Nothern Soul set for after hours revelers
as the Silent Disco guest DJ slot.

30/04/2008 The Voluntary Butler Scheme
Trading Things In
Released on The Last Layer Of The Trifle Recordings
16th June 2008

The Voluntary Butler Scheme is the musical masquerade of Stourbridge based one man band - fronted, backed and catered for by 22 year old Rob Jones.

After being promised by his friend Nathan's friend Andy that he could set up a collaboration between him and lyrical toaster Pato Banton, Rob set about writing and recording an albums worth of songs that'd fit the bill, leaving the appropriate space for Pato's workings.

Upon receiving the bad news phone call from his friend Nathan's friend Andy
"Pato ain't answering you know?? I think he might've got a new mobile??" the ever agreeable Rob said "that's no problem" and sat heart broken on the stair from which he took the call.

Undefeated, he set about recreating the noise of Pato solely on the harmonica. It sounded absolutely nothing like Pato, however Rob liked it and simply recorded a bit of harmonica over all the bits where Pato could and should've been. After putting a red pen line through the only other band member Rob felt suitable, he called forward his own proverb "a bass drum on the back is worth two on the floor" and decided to enter in to a world where the phrase 'artistic differences' solely refers to Spot The Difference Picasso books.

The Voluntary Butler Scheme have already received plays of the demo recordings on Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq, BBC6’s Marc Riley and XFM’s John Kennedy and Jon Hillcock. Rob has also recorded sessions for Marc Riley and Huw Stephens and Mr Stephens has been kind enough to invite him to play at this years Latitude Festival.

29/04/2008 URBNRI
‘Back Me Up’
Release Date: 26th May 2008

Fresh from their Official UK Top 40 chart success with ‘Young, Free & Simple’, Urbnri are once again set to mount another serious assault on the UK singles chart with their follow up track, ‘Back Me Up’.

Kev, Eamonn, Liam & Wee Kev, collectively – Urbnri, were blown away with the level of support and sales for ‘Young Free & Simple, “top 75 would have been great, but top 40 is an amazing feeling” Kev.
The band were soon to find out that not only had they broken into the UK top 40 but the single had also debuted at number 1 in both the Scottish Chart & Indie Chart – A stunning result indeed.

Back Me Up, already a firm live favourite, is a track that should impress music fans and media alike. The infectious guitar hook is the perfect introduction to Eamonn’s pounding drum beat and Kev’s anthemic chorus.
Kev wrote ‘Back Me Up’ whilst serving at HM Prison Greenock. The message within the song is simple – being there to help your mates when they need you most. An Urbnri philosophy.
The month of May will see Urbnri undertake an extensive promotional tour in support of ‘Back Me Up’. They’ll be coming to a town near you.

“Urbnri sound like all the best bits of the last 30 years from the Sex Pistols to The Happy Mondays to Oasis” – XFM

“Powerful, snarling, indie noise” NME

“the most dangerous band in the UK” – The Daily Record

“Urbnri make the Sex Pistols look like The Pussycat Dolls” – The Sun

***ROYWORLD, ZUCCHERO, BABYHEAD, SETH LAKEMAN & SONIC BOOM SIX CONFIRMED FOR GUILFEST JULY 4/5/6***

GuilFest 2008 continue to put the ‘E’ in eclectic with their latest additions to the bill for July 4/5/6, with the announcement that Royworld, Zucchero, Babyhead, Seth Lakeman and Sonic Boom Six have now been confirmed to join the (previously announced) line-up of Blondie, Levellers, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, Kula Shaker, Cerys Matthews, From The Jam, Freak Power, Bowling For Soup, Dodgy, Richie Havens, The Aliens, The Damned & Dreadzone.

GuilFest, held in Guildford’s idyllic Stoke Park, has a long tradition of seeking out the hottest new talent just before they hit the big time, having previously promoted the likes of James Blunt, Newton Faulkner, Sandi Thom and Jamie Callum.

Royworld, currently being championed by Radio One’s Jo Whiley, who made the band’s upcoming single ‘Dust’, released on May 19th, her ‘Pet Sound’ for the last week of April, are sure to follow in their footsteps. Also being championed by Dermot O’Leary on BBC Radio Two, Royworld, who formed at London’s Goldsmiths in 2006, are one of the brightest new indie rock stars in the cosmos.

Italian Rock singer Zucchero, whose "Senza una Donna" (Without a Woman) duet with Paul Young was a top 5 UK hit single in 1991, will be performing on the Main Stage, sponsored by Commercial Radio, on Sunday July 6th. A European legend, Zucchero, who has sold tens of millions of albums worldwide and collaborated with the likes of Eric Clapton, Sting, Bono, Miles Davis, Sheryl Crow etc. in the past, sold out his last UK concert at The Royal Albert Hall in May 2004.

Mercury prize (2005) nominee Seth Lakeman, who won “singer of the year” and “best album” at the 2007 Radio 2 Folk awards, will grace the Ents24 stage on Sunday 6th July. Recently signed to KT Tunstall’s label Relentless, (Part of EMI), Devon’s Seth Lakeman, who is fast becoming a definitive name in the folk world, will release his third album in June, just in time for GuilFest.

Combining the funky dance rhythms of ska and reggae with a taste for classic hip hop, 8-piece Babyhead, who have established themselves as an unrivalled dance floor band with a huge live following over the last couple of years, will invade the Ents 24 Stage on Saturday July 5th.

Sonic Boom Six, whose compelling soundclash has been described as “Notting Hill Carnival on a punk CD”, will also grace the Ents 24 Stage on Saturday July 5th. Few bands can so smoothly mix dancefloor-savvy elements of reggae, jungle and ska with the rigorous commentary of hip-hop whilst retaining enough grit and aggression to be an active fixture of the UK's punk scene.

Tickets are on sale now, available on-line at www.guilfest.co.uk or by calling Ticketline on 0871 424 0050

28/04/2008 STORY OF THE YEAR
RELEASE ‘WAKE UP’
SINGLE RELEASED 19TH MAY ON EPITAPH RECORDS

http://www.storyoftheyear.net/
http://www.myspace.com/storyoftheyear

Story of the Year are gearing up to release the first single from ‘The Black Swan’ - The infectious roar that is “Wake Up”. An artistic triumph in every sense, the beloved, million-selling band’s third studio album is unequivocally its finest, building on the strength of past accomplishments while celebrating a newfound allegiance with Epitaph.

“Making this record felt like starting over,” says Dan Marsala, front man for the St. Louis-reared quintet. “We’re like a brand new band. You can hear it in these songs, we’re excited again. I think we’ve really stepped it up on this record.”

If Story of the Year’s career achievements – from 2003’s smash debut Page Avenue to headlining massive festivals such as the Van’s Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos, to world tours with the likes of My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park and The Used – have been abundant, they’ve also been the result of the esteemed modern rock outfit’s tireless work ethic and willingness to push boundaries musically. Approaching the follow-up to 2005’s In the Wake of Determination with a burst of creative freedom, Story of the Year – which also counts guitarists Ryan Phillips and Philip Sneed, bassist Adam Russell and drummer Josh Wills – elevates The Black Swan with these same key convictions.

“It’s about our band,” Dan acknowledges. “Before we signed to Epitaph, things were up in the air for us. We knew we didn’t want to be on a major label anymore. We were like, ‘What does this mean? Is our band done?’ We really had to work through it and it was a weird time for us. But it’s also been a really positive experience. Like, ‘we’re going to get through this together and nothing can stop us!’”

Despite a back catalog that counts a half dozen radio staples (like 2003’s “Until The Day I Die” to 2006’s “Take Me Back”) and a wall full of gold and platinum awards for record sales in North America, Japan and Australia, Story of the Year’s loyal fans are its principal concern. And the legions that discovered the group via Page Avenue will be pleased to learn the group re-teamed with producer John Feldmann for a handful of tracks on The Black Swan.

Among them is the aforementioned, explosive “Wake Up,” a collaboration between Phillips, Marsala and Russell, which took lyrical inspiration from Carl Sagan’s book Pale Blue Dot. Written from a global perspective, Dan says of the track,

“When you think about just how small the earth really is and just how small the human race really is, our existence is almost insignificant in the greater scheme of things. You think of how the wars and all of the fighting and killing are just so unnecessary. It’s pointless, and we should all be living our lives to the fullest.”

Story of the Year's first single, ‘Wake Up’ is up on band’s MySpace page and will be released in the UK on May 19th.

20-May London Mean Fiddler
21-May Birmingham Academy 2

28/04/2008
New London band The Indigo Road will release their debut single Simple in June.

Featuring guest vocals from Heidi Jo Hines, daughter of former Wings guitarist Denny Laine, it is a double A side of stark contrasts. “Simple” is an acoustic guitar-based song suffused with the sweet tone of reconciliation and forgiveness, while “Goodbye to You” recounts the dark aftermath of a love gone sour.

The band is completing new material at the moment with a view to releasing more singles over the summer ahead of a debut album planned for early in 2009. The involvement of Heidi Jo Hines will be typical of the band’s approach. Band founder and chief writer Mark Herbert has developed a plan for The Indigo Road which will see him invite different vocalists and musicians in as each track requires in order to provide a distinctive feel to every release and a press approach to the recording process and to gigging around the UK.

The empty chair at the forefront of the artwork is synonymous with the direction the band will be taking this year as guest vocalists are invited to offer their vocal take on each of Herbert’s dramatic melodies and lyrics.

Mark Herbert picked up a guitar again in earnest a little over a year ago after a number of years working in the very different fields of international business and politics, environmental fund raising and education. Since then he has been writing, recording and rehearsing with various musicians before stepping out on The Indigo Road. His path in life has seen him achieve a business degree, an English degree and the teaching of English at the rough and elite end of the spectrum. Mixing band influences from Smashing Pumpkins to The Who on a band level and from Bowie to Costello on a songwriter level see the band deliver a diverse blend as seen in the current double A side.

The songs will be sold as downloads via iTunes.

Queensrÿche to Tour UK with
Operation: mindcrime I & II
Theatrical Extravaganza

Following the significant success of their US Tour, Queensrÿche are to bring their theatrical show to the UK, hitting 10 venues across the country. Queensrÿche perform their critically acclaimed and commercially successful concept albums: Operation: mindcrime and Operation: mindcrime II in their entirety in the UK for the very first time.

Operation: mindcrime was released in 1988 and went platinum. The album tells the story of Nikki, a junkie who is manipulated by Dr. X into assassinating corrupt public figures, which conflicts with his love for hooker-turned-nun, Sister Mary. The album has often been compared to the likes of other notable concept albums, such as Pink Floyd’s: The Wall and The Who’s: Tommy. Operation: mindcrime II is set 20 years later and explores Nikki’s life since his release from prison and answers the question “Who Killed Sister Mary?”

Queensrÿche have taken the opportunity to make this tour much more than a concert: the show features surround-sound, video imagery and a full cast with actors re-enacting the storyline behind each of these albums. Lasting 3 hours (with an intermission), this is an epic piece of prog-metal theatre not to be missed.

Geoff Tate says, “This is the most extensive stage show we have ever put together. Working with the actors and creating the different scenes helped us to really tell the story. Between ritualistic execution, working prostitutes, motorcycle crashes and everything in between, we are able to really draw the audience in to the story.”?

Queensrÿche are: Geoff Tate (lead vocals & keyboards); Michael Wilson (lead & rhythm guitars); Mike Stone (lead & rhythm guitars); Eddie Jackson (bass); Scott Rockenfield (drums, percussion & keyboards).

Release new studio album and
co-headline UK tour with Def Leppard

To celebrate their 30th Anniversary, Whitesnake will release “Good to Be Bad”, through SPV/Steamhammer Records on 21st April, their first studio album in a decade. The album features 11 new, slamming Whitesnake songs which are guaranteed to take their place alongside their better known multi-million selling catalogue.

Legendary front man, David Coverdale, says, “The new album contains all the elements I enjoy about Whitesnake, and more. I can hear moments that take me back to the bluesy, early years of the band all the way through the band's musical history to fully embrace the more electric aspects of where we are now, as a band. I'm thrilled with it and can hardly wait to unleash it on an unsuspecting public! If this is indeed the last Whitesnake studio record then I'm happy to finish like this. It was a labour of love making this record...a joy... and I'm still enjoying listening to it. Can't be bad!"

The 11 new songs, written by Coverdale and guitarist Doug Aldrich (who also co-produced the album with Coverdale and Michael McIntyre) provide a good balance of 8 rocking tracks and 3 ballads. Coverdale feels it's the first 'real' Whitesnake album in almost 20 years, commenting “It's very butch. Very muscular..."

Track Listing:
1 Best Years. 7 Summer Rain
2 Can You Hear The Wind Blow 8 Lay Down Your Love
3 Call On Me 0 Got What You Need
4 All I Want All I Need 10 A Fool In Love
5 Good To Be Bad 11 'Til The End Of Time
6 All For Love

With their blend of hard rock, soul, blues, and balladry plus a healthy dose of priapic posturing and good time fun, Whitesnake brings a welcome, positive energy to the current musical climate. Their recent release “Live In The Still Of The Night” was voted Best DVD of 2006 by the readers of Classic Rock magazine.

Additionally, Whitesnake will be taking to the road with Def Leppard, playing a series of co-headline shows across the UK in summer of 2008. 25/04/2008 LOWGOLD ANNOUNCE FANTASTIC NEW VIDEO TO ‘BURNING EMBERS’ - out now

At the dawn of man, a primitive tribe lives by hunting and gathering in a forest. The tribe lives in the shadow of a black monolith of futuristic origin; it imparts the knowledge of music on members of the tribe. Via osmosis, the tribe members slowly comprehend the concept of playing rock n roll music, scavenging the land and sculpting the first musical instruments. The tribe join together to play the haunting melodies of Lowgold.

After millions of years of evolution, where mankind uses their knowledge of music, a space plane carries a group of scientists to a space station orbiting earth. As they approach the monolith, the rays of the sun strike the monolith, emitting a transmission of Lowgold's Burning Embers. Wow.

Lowgold spent almost all their marketing budget on flying to Borneo to shoot this video in Feb 2008 only to find they weren't allowed to capture real monkeys on film. Frontman Darren Ford explains "The original idea was to give the monkeys actual instruments, record them and put it out as the B-side. They say if you sit enough chimps in a studio you'll end up with a Razorlight single, so we were going straight for the dollar. It was disappointing as we were really into a genuine Attenborough vibe - we got this top nature cameraman involved and everything, but the Government wouldn't let us tape the ape. So we had to wing it and courier some monkey suits over from London."

Weezer return with Pork and Beans on 23 June
Sixth album Weezer follows on 30 June

“I’ll eat my candy with the pork and beans”

Following months of internet rumour – some true, most not; some started by the band, most not – Weezer have revealed details of new single ‘Pork and Beans’ and its parent long-player, which for the third time in the band’s six-album history, will be titled simply ‘Weezer’.

Whether by accident or design, Weezer have released an eponymous record every seven years, each featuring some of their biggest singles. In 1994 their debut, since christened ‘The Blue Album’, broke through on the back of worldwide hit ‘Buddy Holly’. ‘The Green Album’ followed in 2001, propelled by alterna-smash ‘Hash Pipe’, and now the Jacknife Lee-produced ‘Pork and Beans’ looks set to continue that trend, as the lead track from ‘Weezer’ mk.III, already being referred to as ‘The Red Album’.

‘The Red Album’ not only marks Weezer’s clean sweep of the primary colour chart, but also a high point in the band’s 14-year evolution, and the moment where frontman Rivers Cuomo realises his power pop dream. Comprised of sessions produced by Rick Rubin, Jacknife Lee and the band themselves, the album is undeniably Weezer, playing like a particularly satisfying pick n’ mix of the band’s finest moments from the aforementioned primary colour albums, and the intervening long-players Pinkerton (1996), Maladriot (2002) and Make Believe (2005).

‘Pork and Beans’ is a suitably raucous way to kick off Weezer’s 2008. Recorded under the watch of Jacknife Lee, and riding a wave of River’s passive-aggressive power-chord power-play, the song set the internet ablaze when a 30-second clip leaked in early April. At the time of writing that short snippet was riding high at numbers one and two of the influential Hype Machine chart and it’s already being regarded as a Weezer classic by fans and the internet mafia.

Weezer are Rivers Cuomo, Pat Wilson, Scott Shriner and Brian Bell.

‘Pork and Beans’ is out 23 June on Geffen via Polydor
The album, ‘Weezer’, follows on 30 June

SACRED MOTHER
***Explosive New British Metal Band’s Bone Crunching Single ‘Two Thousand Eight Hundred’ released on Transcend Records, distributed by Cargo on May 19th***

Darrin South – Vocals
Andy James – Guitar
Josh Gurner – Bass
Lee Newell - Drums

Sacred Mother Tongue’s totally infectious new single, ‘Two Thousand Eight Hundred’, released on Transcend Records through Cargo on May 19th, is all set to catapult this explosive young new British metal act into the spotlight. Exuberant, crisp guitar licks, (courtesy of wunderkind new guitarist Andy James), mingle with the epic melodic choruses and powerful, soaring vocals of Darrin South.

Sacred Mother Tongue formed in 2004, playing pubs and clubs in the Northampton / Milton Keynes area and building up a live following as a covers band, gradually introducing their own songs into the set. They released their debut EP, ‘Revenge Is Personal’, in February 2007. “With a sound that borrows heavily from Metallica, Soil and even Tool, they’ve clearly got their sights set on big things, and at its best – on the brutish ‘Wake Up Call’ and rambling closer ‘Down’ – this sounds like the promising precursor to a rapid evolution. Watch This space. KKK” mused Dom Lawson in Kerrang! on 03.03.07. The band racked up support slots with the likes of Johnny Truant, Biomechanical, Evile, and a main support slot with Lamb of God.

Then original guitarist Joe Garret gave up playing guitar to become vocalist / front man in another new band, Fell Silent. Darrin, Lee and Josh cast around urgently for a replacement, following up every lead to exceptional guitarists possible. A friend of theirs, ex – Prodigy guitarist Gizz Butt, told them about a fantastic solo guitarist from Norwich, Andy James, who he had seen absolutely shredding his guitar as an Ernie Ball (guitar strings) sponsored up-and-coming new hero at a guitar trade show. They checked his resume on the web and couldn’t believe it when he agreed to give it a go.

From the first moment the four musicians took to the rehearsal stage they totally gelled, but Darrin, Lee and Josh still couldn’t believe it when Andy said he’d love to join in August 2007. Since then, apart from emerging to play the Rock Off and Hard Rock Hell Festivals, the newly re-energised band have written a whole album’s worth of material and jettisoned all but three of their old songs. The chemistry, with Andy coming up with a host of guitar licks and melodies for everyone to groove along to and feed from, has been nothing short of sensational.

Sacred Mother Tongue are currently in the studio recording their debut album, due out early Autumn, with producer Scott Atkins. The first fruit, in the form of the single ‘Two Thousand Eight Hundred’, (for which a performance based video with a menacing sub plot and twist has already been shot), is simply stunning in terms of song craft and musicianship, and bodes extremely well for the band’s upcoming album.

23/04/2008
22/04/2008 From Jeff Buckley to Skunk Anansie, comparisons ringing in their ears, Grace Solero represent a glorious musical collision of influences, backgrounds and sounds and delivered with memorable pop hooks and vocals to die for. 2007 was the breakthrough year for Grace Solero after If U Feel was play listed by the legendary Bob Harris on BBC 6.

Taking their own unique paths in life this group of musicians has established London as their place of frenzied creative thinking. Grace Solero are a multinational quartet with diverse musical influences. Their ideas were soon honed into the recently released and now critically acclaimed debut album ‘New Moon’. The music media have quickly seized on the band following their no holds barred album launch in London.

"Few bands manage to combine both power and passion but Grace Solero have managed it with ease...."

Rhythm & Booze

"A glorious musical collision of influences, backgrounds and sounds...."

SafeConcerts.com

“Bittersweet, Jeff Buckley-esque”

Time Out London

“Incredibly powerful and unique voice”
Entertainment Focus

“Passionate, emotional and delivered with strength and conviction”

Planet Thrash

Crashing guitar riffs and frenetic drum patterns combine to underpin Grace’s passionate and majestic soaring vocals. Post album release has seen the band ride on the crest of a wave within the music press with countless reviews of the album, as well as promoters, editors and producers all pursuing the band. Appearances at In The City and on numerous radio shows have seen the band establish a fast building fan base. A cover shoot for an Italian magazine was arranged as soon as the media in Grace’s native country picked up that her band were now being regarded as one of the definite must see bands in the UK, confirming their status as an emerging band not only in the UK but also mainland Europe.

With the success following a UK tour and grabbing attention on the live circuit, ‘If U Feel’ was singled out as the next single with its instantly arresting hooks and chorus. The single, available to download from all major download sites, will also feature 2 exclusive acoustic tracks. More live dates will be announced soon as the band prepare for the festival season and a video also accompanies the current single.

22/04/2008 Chris Townsend has just finished recording his debut album with top producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Mel C, Super Furry Animals, Catatonia).

'...nods towards Coldplay and has lovely a string-heavy outro'

Whisperin & Hollerin

Back Again / Copenhagen is the double A side single taken from the forthcoming album also titled Copenhagen which is scheduled for release in late May 2008, a 10-track collection blending rhythmic guitars, catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics and driving pianos revealing a mature, diverse and extremely promising young singer/songwriter, who has already been ear-marked as one of the brightest new talents in 2008.

Since early 2006 when he supported “The Feeling” Chris has played over 100 shows all over the UK culminating in a 3 night sold-out gig at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2007. The 23-year-old has also played a number of concerts in Copenhagen, Denmark during a six-month stay there between August 2006 and January 2007 and plans to return later this year to promote the new single and album.

Townsend’s songs explore the classic themes of love, life, loss and regret but these now have an added originality with the use of effects pedals, creating drumbeats, bass and lead lines and vocal harmonies live onstage around his acoustic guitar and vocals. This creates an ethereal and dramatic sound; similar to that of bands such as Crowded House, The Verve and Coldplay with further comparisons being drawn from the likes of US artists Gavin Degraw, John Mayer, Howie Day and The Dave Matthews Band.

His independently released “What Are You Waiting For” EP has sold over 2000 copies reaching audiences all over the world thanks to online resources such as Myspace.com where Chris regularly features in the top UK artists. To date he has had over 200,000 plays on his fan sites around the world.

The future looks very bright for this young artist as he prepares to release his debut single and album.

GUILLEMOTS

New Single ‘Falling Out of Reach, May 26th
Top 10 LP ‘Red’ out Now on Polydor

Guillemots release their new single ‘Falling Out Of Reach’ on May 26th. The rapturous single is the second track to be taken from their acclaimed new album ‘Red’ and follow up to the hugely addictive first single ‘Get Over It’.

Written by the Guillemots - Fyfe Dangerfield, Magrao, Aristazabal Hawkes and Greig Stewart – ‘Falling Out Of Reach’ was co-produced by the band alongside their longstanding engineer Adam Noble (George Michael, U2 and Paul McCartney).

Blissfully romantic, ‘Falling Out Of Reach’ is a rich string laden ode to the unrequited. Building into an unrestrained and utterly emotive chorus, the track epitomises the bands ability to write clever, honest and completely unique modern love songs. The accompanying video features Sir Ian McKellen in what is without doubt one of the bands best videos to date.

Later this year the band embarks on a full UK tour before supporting R.E.M. on their August stadium tour.

ALL YOU NEED IS MORRISSEY

New Single “ALL YOU NEED IS ME” Released 19th May.
HEADLINING WIRELESS FESTIVAL 4TH JULY (ONLY UK APPEARANCE THIS SUMMER)
NEW STUDIO ALBUM SCHEDULED FOR AUTUMN 2008
Recently confirmed to headline Wireless Festival in London’s Hyde Park on 4th July, his only UK date this summer, Morrissey releases a new single “All You Need Is Me” on 19th May on Decca/Polydor.
“All You Need Is Me” is among a handful of new songs to have graced Morrissey’s set list over shows in recent months and was performed earlier this year on Later With Jools Holland along-side “Something Is Squeezing My Skull”, “That’s How People Grow Up” and the classic “The Last Of The Famous International Playboys”.
The “All You Need Is Me” single formats will feature new songs as exclusive b-sides. “My Dearest Love” and “Children In Pieces” were recorded in LA with multi-award winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla who has won Oscars for his scores for the films Brokeback Mountain and Babel and Baftas for his scores for Babel and The Motorcycle Diaries. 18/04/2008 Afterparty is the new single from London's finest purveyor of funk, hip hop, Ebenus.

Taken from the forthcoming album also entitled ‘Afterparty’, a simmering concoction of funk, jazz, hip-hop and R&B. The track was recieved at this years midem conference, by none other than the legendary Louis Vega(Masters at Work)...he played to an unknowing crowd who went mad for it...Yet even the legend that is Louis Vega couldn’t get a copy, as it was already assigned for someone else!!!!"

Ebenus, a native of South London, has been writing and producing for local artists for some six years now, as well as providing backing vocals for many. In short, he has been a fixture on the UK R&B circuit for over half a decade. After such a learning curve, the time is now ripe for his first long-player. Ebenus's influences include Prince, James Brown, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, along with the motley collection of inspirations that is hip-hop, classical, contemporary R&B and dance. However, Ebenus is one who has truly absorbed all his influences to create a passionate, funky and melodic style all his own.

He says of his eclectic sound: "I suppose that I'm a house that has many different tenants, but we all get on well harmoniously. My personal vision is to be respected in the music industry, and eventually produce and write with other talented artists, allowing them to flourish musically and spiritually."

Early reaction’s from around UK clubs include…

’Funky,Fresh and some tough percussive sounds’

Envy

‘Great funky rhythms and basslines’

The song, which also includes backing vocals by Josh Todd (Buckcherry), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), James Michael (Sixx:A.M.) and Chris Brown (Trapt) is the title track of the new album. Lyrically, the new album follows the story of the band’s NY Times best-selling memoir The Dirt, a no-holds-barred tell-all that features every gritty detail of the band’s exploits as one of the world’s biggest rock bands. “Saints of Los Angeles” is available for purchase at the iTunes Music Store. In an industry first, the song was also made available as a download for the Rock Band video game simultaneously with its single release.
