INNERPARTYSYSTEM have remixed Ladyhawke’s current single ‘Paris Is Burning’ and the band is even making it available to download for free through their MySpace and website. Of the remix, they have the following to say - "We started doing remixes as a way to keep busy and break up writing our own stuff. By chance we saw Lady Hawke at camden crawl, ‘Paris Is Burning’ really stuck in our head, and we thought we'd have a go trying something different with it."

IPS is currently in the middle of a busy stint of live appearances in Europe including a storming set at Projekt Revolution with Jay-Z, Linkin Park and The Bravery on the weekend just gone and a forthcoming slot at the Wireless Festival.

INNERPARTYSYSTEM is four guys who were reared in the bleak small towns that surround Reading, Pennsylvania. The weathered houses, rusted factories and sprawling farms make this the landscape of true America. These environments are stark and mechanical, and they are pregnant with dark and anxious hope – sentiments that Patrick Nissley, INNERPARTYSYSTEM’s main songwriter, carries in his writing. INNERPARTYSYSTEM have a distinctive vision, as their songs incorporate throbbing electronic beats that nod towards Autechre, Chemical Brothers and Squarepusher but they are equally a rock band whom, like Nine Inch Nails, Pendulum and Prodigy, aren’t afraid to mix styles and mess with the formula.

Their first visit to the UK in April for the Camden Crawl immediately caught the attention of music heads and clued-up media leaders in the capitol with the likes of Zane Lowe, Daniel P Carter, XFM, Scuzz and Kerrang! all lending their support. The Pennsylvanian quartet are also confirmed to play the following dates including a set at the Wireless Festival, where they will appear on the Tuborg Stage.

26/06/2008 Papa La Bas lives in the Nottingham caves under the castle raising spirits on ju ju hairy string and baby chicken grease. The entrance of the cave is guarded by invisible bling dogs (one yellow, one black), and the worlds strongest five year old, who is actually also under a spell, so she just kind of hovers there foaming a bit and speaking in tongues......

Anyone who tries to pass her without Papa's approval suddenly wakes up in a bed of mouldy kippers with their legs coming out of their ears......Papa La Bas is two gumbo-stinkin bitches, who make spells out of digital transducers and gravy, resulting in a temporal music which can exist in at least eighteen dimensions at any one time.....The two headed Dr Beast, as Papa is also known, slinks from pillar to post at night in a dance of pure feral libidinousness, contaminated only by streetlights and the shadows of passing cars. You will occasionally see him/her frolicking on Colwick hill, a silhouette, whirling around hard enough to lose his/her/its hat.

Siobhan has had a busy and prolific career as a writer and musician. Currently completing a PhD in philosophy (of music and technology), she has produced music in many projects and collaborations from an extremely young age (Recoil: Mute; Travelite: Interscope). She also writes poetry and fiction, and is a keen keeper of diaries. She has eleven dream diaries. Siobhan works solo and with other artists, but her work for Papa la bas with Dwyz is unique, in that he provides the entire template of sound for her to write her strange, delimited and deconstructed songs to. The two came together to produce in 2006, and have nearly completed their first album, a sublime realm of electronic sound, beats, minimalism and cultural reference.

Dwyz works with many acts, producing, deejaying, and if they are really lucky, spitting lyrics too. In-house producer at Dealmaker Records at the time, dwyz and Siobhan were introduced by the label owner, Ste, to collaborate on a track for his forthcoming compilation LP ‘Departure Lounge’. The seeds were sown, as was a uniquely interesting sound. A duo in the studio, Papa La Bas is supported by a 7piece live act that delivers the maturity of the studio sound to transfixed audiences. Dwyz has further ties with BasilicaMusic through the forthcoming Tusken Coalition EP that he is also producing. Dwyz only has 4 toes!

26/06/2008 PEARL
‘BIO’

Raw. Real. Gritty. True, soulful rock and roll with a heated blues flavor throughout. These are some of the ways you could describe the self titled debut album from Pearl. In the vein of Aerosmith, AC/DC, Janis Joplin, The Black Crowes and other soulful rock acts before her, Pearl reminds us that Rock and roll is indeed not dead. Produced by Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age), and driven by an amazing band of rock legends including, Scott Ian (Anthrax), and Mother Superior, Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), and Ted Nugent, Pearl’s whiskey soaked voice rips through the plastic and the pre-packaged pop that inundates today’s music business. “I just want to bring it back, bring back the real rock ‘n’ roll, the soul and the emotion. I strip it down, and I come from a raw and naked place. I’m heartbroken. I’m pissed off. I’m horny. I’m honest, and I’m happy to be alive.” “I think people need a bit of respite from the candy culture that’s become the norm today. People want substance. You can feel it. We don’t want to be lied to anymore.”

Daughter of legendary rock icon Meat Loaf, Pearl was born from and into music. “I grew up surrounded by rock ‘n’ roll, soul, blues, funk, and country. It’s what I love. It’s what I’m made of. It’s in my blood.” Named after legendary powerhouse Janis Joplin, Pearl embraced her innate love of music from a very early age. “I don’t remember when I discovered that I could sing. I was always singing. As a little girl I was singing all the time putting on shows for everyone.” In 1994, Pearl joined her father Meat Loaf on stage, and toured with him worldwide as a backup singer for nine years. “I’ve grown up watching my father perform, but the lessons I learned, and the experiences I gained by performing with him are invaluable.” Pearl also joined Motley Crue in 2000 for their Maximum Rock tour through the US and Japan. Recently, in 2007, she joined forces again with Nikki Sixx singing with his latest project Sixx A.M. “I hold Nikki close to my heart. He’s a dear friend, a true talent, and I absolutely love working with him. I’ve learned a lot about myself since I’ve known him, a lot of which I’ve poured into my own songs.”

Pearl’s debut effort technically began it’s life in 2004, when she ended her nine year run singing with her dad, met Jim Wilson and Marcus Blake of Mother Superior, and began working on what she considers a “cathartic, tell-all”. “ I purged myself with these songs. All of the lyrics are quite revealing. I’m not holding back. If you pay attention, it’s like reading my diary.” The album itself went through many phases. “We recorded a demo album early on, and I lived with it for a while. We did club gigs with a nine piece band including horns, and a Hammond B3. After a while you settle into some songs, and realize othesr need to be trimmed off and replaced with new ones that fit the circle and complete the story.” Pearl, Wilson, and Blake continued writing, and eventually enlisted the talents of Pearl’s fiancee Scott Ian (Anthrax) to help put the finishing touches on tracks like “Nobody”, and “Rock Child”. She also joined up with friend and old band mate Nalle Colt to tidy up his dark and pining song “Anything”. Later they called in good friend and Alice in Chains guitarist, Jerry Cantrell, to color “Anything” with a sexy, sad solo. “I wanted him to really haunt us on this one, and he was more than happy to.” Another old friend was called in to add his kick ass guitar skills to the song “Check Out Charlie”. Ted Nugent agreed to lay down some good old ripping Nuge feedback on this blistering rock track. “I wanted that power that only Uncle Ted can deliver”, says Pearl. Scott Ian also appears on every track, and now travels with Pearl and performs live with her as a member of her band. From top to bottom Pearl takes you on a bare boned, explosive and crushing journey, fusing rock and blues, leaving you satiated and ready for more.

Looking back, Pearl has performed around the world, in Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, Europe,Canada and of course at home all over the U.S.A. She’s sung for everyone from Prince Charles, to President Clinton, and audiences of thousands in historic venues from London’s Royal Albert Hall, to New York City’s Radio City Music Hall. This spring, 2008, marked Pearl’s first time playing live and electric in the UK when she was asked to bring her show on the road as direct support for Velvet Revolver. Pearl says she has Slash himself to thank for that. “That experience was a dream come true for me. We put ourselves out there when we asked Slash to listen to the new album. He did, and in turn, he became a champion of ours. He’s the reason why we were out supporting Velvet Revolver. Slash was predomenently instrumental in us getting a record deal when we did, and why we did. I thanked him that after our last gig in Brighton, England, and he actually smiled and kicked the carpet, like , ‘awe shucks’”. “It’s truly amazing, the boys that I pasted on my bedroom walls when I was a girl, have materialized and become part of my team. You couldn’t ask for a more massive vote of confidence.” A road and stage veteran, Pearl says she’s still learning her way around each performance. “Every show is an adventure. I just let the music take me wherever feels right. I’ve fallen down, I’ve even peed my pants. I don’t care. As long as I can connect with the audience, have them feel me, and get my point across, then I’ve done what I came to do. I’ll break myself open to get there. This is my time now, and I have a lot to tell. I have a hell of a lot to give.”

IZZIE VOODOO

Put one girl oozing theatre in a studio with guitars, heavy fuzzy basses, computers, keyboards effects, a tonne of software, production equipment and a mic or two and what do you get? You get izzie Voodoo.

Dark electronica pop is what they're tagging it with some industrial stuff thrown in for good measure and so many twists turns and catchy pop hooks you start to get light headed. Actually, it's award winning stuff that you can't turn off - she writes it, records it, programs it, sings and performs it, and her mixing and production work is second to none.

Live gigs are dry ice laden, kick-ass, electro-pop affairs, delivered by the slender studio girl who exudes martial arts confidence and full contact Kick Boxing prowess, standing unwavering at the front, handing out free black lollipops in her teasing theatrical garb, and smiling wryly at her audience before devouring them alive.

They stand in awe at what has been described as a female Marc Bolan whispering from under the bed'- flanked in the lights by her new line up with Lawrence Mahmood, (affectionately known as 'Lol'); a gym stature T.A. man with a cool, menacing stare and throbbing fretless bass, and Zell, a pretty, dainty, quietly spoken Goth girl triggering synths and delivering perfect chorus to izzie’s vocal.

By the age of 13, izzie had spent 10 years reaching teaching levels in various forms of dance, had clocked up serious amounts of stage performance experience and learned to read music proficiently. After some time she had her own art/props/band merchandise business under her belt while gaining backstage, lighting, live sound and sound mixing engineering training and teaching herself bass guitar and electric guitar. Soon her love of music took over and she gave up art to teach herself extensive computer skills, deciding to concentrate on song writing and perfecting her music production.

In 2007, izzie Voodoo was named finalist in Song Of The Year for her song ‘Sound’, picked by some of the biggest names in music including Grammy Award winners and the track will now be released on 7th July 2008 as her first single on BasilicaMusic (BASMUS011) and is a great taster for her debut album “ The Push” (BASMUS005) which is released on July 21st 2008.

The single is download only and will be available from all major download sites globally.

THE BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE

Just Like Kicking Jesus (mini-album)
12 Tonar /‘a’ Records

Release Date: July 28th

This mini album of 5 songs (4 never released before) runs over 27 minutes and was recorded in Reykjavik . The first track of this release features the vocals of Icelandic artist & film maker Unnur Andrea Einarsdottir.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre has been somewhat of a musical commune for many respected musicians over the years, a band from the 1990’s that has spurned other great bands ever since. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Warlocks, The Silver Rockets, The Black Angels, The Ravenettes, The Dilettantes (to name a few) are all part of this musical family tree. Indeed, this is a band that has witnessed many incarnations since its inception in San Francisco in 1995.

Two dozen band members later and numerous “ups and downs” (some have been famously sensationalized in the media), the one thing that has always remained consistent for this psychedelic collective is front man Mr. Anton Alfred Newcombe. A man and artist many are eager to dismiss as obnoxious and unworthy of the attention he receives. Others however, deem him simply as vulnerable in this world he roams and hugely misunderstood whilst doing so.

The band play the following dates:

  • June 2008
  • 28th Portsmouth - Pyramids
  • 29th UK - Glastonbury Festival
  • 30th Stoke - Sugarmill
  • July 2008
  • 01st Manchester - Academy 2
  • 02nd Northampton - Roadmenders
  • 09th Birmingham - Academy 2
  • 10th Nottingham - Rescue Rooms
  • 11th Leeds - Cockpit
  • 12th Dublin - Oxegen
  • 13th Kinross - T in the Park
  • 15th Barrow-in-Furness - The Canteen
  • 16th London - Forum

History Of Guns new double A-side single Empty Eyes / …But I'll Be Waiting brings together a bewildering mix of punk, industrial, electronica, chaos, escapism, ambient, manic-depression, dance music, mysticism, sound effects, other worlds, progressive rock, altered states and self-destruction to create a truly unique few minutes of high quality music machinations.

Their debut album Flashes of Light was released on the band's own Liquid Len label in 2004, it's 2005 follow-up Apophenia saw the band genre-hopping with each track from dance to punk taking in a lot of other styles in between. Word spread on the underground and live music scene, culminating in the band signing to Line Out Records in 2006. A year later their song Your Obedient Servants came in at no.19 in journalist Mick Mercer's list of Top 30 Singles Of All Time in Record Collector, describing them as “...by far, the most inventive UK band to have got their hands caught in the Industrial threshing machine.” Empty Eyes / …But I'll Be Waiting is the first single to be taken from the band's ground-breaking new album Acedia which sees the band focusing on guitar-based music and is out now via Line Out Records/Code7 Distribution.

‘…oddly brilliant, like a goth metal Underworld’

Metal Hammer

‘An astonishing piece of music’

CoolNoise

The band's history has already seen them commissioned by Sony to supply two pieces of music to accompany downloadable clips for the Sony PSP. A tendency to swing wildly from one style to another whilst always being in control keeps History Of Guns fans on their feet. Confrontational, angry and bleak lyrically, the band also manage to be contrastingly touching and melodic without a hint of the pantomime that often comes with bands who consider themselves to be ‘dark’. The Acedia album is filled to the brim with a reasoned and intelligent nihilistic hatred that is both moving and darkly fascinating. A cruel, relentless work of experience, of feeling and of humanity.

“Working with History of Guns is terrifying and exhilarating. They leave no space for ego and refuse to compromise musically. Never scared to try something new, never afraid to risk scaring off the audience, which as yet they have failed to do. Truly captivating aural abuse.”

Bob Barker - Line Out Records.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame held their annual induction ceremony last Thursday night in a star-studded event full of once-in-a-lifetime performances.

John Rzeznick of the Goo Goo Dolls received the Hal David Starlight Award for songwriters making a significant impact on the recording industry. FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM

***UK GOTH ROCK LEGENDS SET TO PLAY 2 SEPERATELY THEMED SHEPHERDS BUSH EMPIRE CONCERTS JULY 12 & 13***

Seminal goth rock legends Fields Of The Nephilim follow their triumphant comeback, rammed-to-the-rafters sold-out London Astoria show in May 2007, with two back-to-back gigs at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on July 12th and 13th.

Fields Of The Nephilim will play two separately themed concerts, with the night of Saturday, July 12th themed ‘Ad mortem’, while July 13th is billed as ‘Ad Vitam’. Rather than focusing, as it might seem, on the band’s early, and then late catalogue of music, the two shows present two different musical journeys about mood and setting rather than a chronological list of songs. Both nights will be filmed for a double CD / DVD release later in the year.

‘Expect something special on both nights’ promises Frontman Carl McCoy, continuing ‘These will be the only shows we will perform in the UK this year & should prove to be the highlight of the “Ceremonies” concerts of 2008. We have refrained from doing live shows just for the hell of it. All the ceremonies events have been placed & performed at significant times to celebrate & coincide with specific birth and death anniversaries relevant to the Nephilim.’

Originally formed in Hertfordshire in 1983, Fields Of The Nephilim swiftly became one of the biggest cult rock bands in the UK, producing a series of widely acclaimed and revered albums that remain among the most powerful and goth records ever made, not to mention a significant influence on numerous major figures in today’s metal scene, including HIM’s Ville Valo and Nevermore’s Warrel Dane.

Fields Of The Nephilim’s debut album ‘Dawnrazor’, crashed straight into the UK Independent charts at number one in May 1987, and the band’s second album, ‘The Nephilim’, not only topped the Indie chart in September 1988, but also charted at #14 in the national album charts. ‘Elizium’, Fields Of The Nephilim’s 3rd studio album, released in September 1990, peaked at number 22 in the national UK album chart.

Fields Of The Nephilim then imploded in 1991, and apart from an ill-fated reunion with the original line-up in 1998, went into hiatus until 2005, when Carl McCoy emerged with a brand new incarnation of the band and a brand new studio album, ‘Mourning Sun’.

On May 24th 2007 Fields Of The Nephilim played their first live show since 1991 at London’s Astoria, marking a new dawn for the band, who have already headlined a number of European festivals in 2008 and are currently working on new material, as they look towards their next album.

Tickets for Shepherds Bush Empire, priced £21 (plus booking fee) are available from ticketweb.co.uk or 0844 477 2000 / 0870 534 4444.

20/06/2008 INNERPARTYSYSTEM CREATE THE FIRST EVER CHOCOLATE VINYL SEVEN-INCH RECORD!

Pennsylvanian quartet INNERPARTYSYSTEM are proud to be the first band ever to have their debut UK single pressed onto a seven-inch single made entirely from dark chocolate and limited to only 100 copies. Featuring their forthcoming single ‘Don’t Stop’, released June 30th, if kept cool enough the record does actually play as the grooves are cut into the chocolate, allowing it to play like a normal, if slightly crackly, vinyl single. We kid you not. It might not sound as good as regular vinyl but it sure tastes better and it’s far easier to swallow.

INNERPARTYSYSTEM are also confirmed to play the highly-anticipated Projekt Revolution show at Milton Keynes Bowl June 29th. Headlined by Linkin Park, INNERPARTYSYSTEM join Jay-Z, Pendulum, N*E*R*D, Enter Shikari and The Bravery on a bill that threatens to be one of the gigs of the summer.

Their first visit to the UK in April for the Camden Crawl immediately caught the attention of music heads and clued-up media leaders in the capitol with the likes of Zane, Daniel P Carter, XFM, Scuzz and Kerrang! all lending their support. The superb Penta directed video, is currently the #1 requested video on Scuzz.

Alongside their appearance at Projekt Revolution, the Pennsylvanian quartet are also confirmed to play the following dates including a set at the Wireless Festival, where they will appear on the Tuborg Stage.

The 7 Digital DMD will feature ‘Dear God’ supplemented by a live track (title TBC) and the single will also be available as a one-track DMD.

19/06/2008 Contrasting their blatant power with simple yet earthquake style beats, and their loud yet educated glass shattering northern mouths, Last Man Down take you on a cross-country drive through personal triumph, broken down towns and broken down hearts with their beautifully uncompromising hand crafted masterpieces.

The Cheshire based four-piece consists of Mike (Vocals/Guitar), the brothers: Alex (Vocals/Bass) and Ash (Vocals/Drums), and Matt (Vocals/Guitar). Mike, Alex, and Ash had been close friends for years, making music together in an old bust up church they converted in to the LMD head quarters, eventually drafting in Matt 'The Glasses' Martin from the nearby town of Stoke-on-Trent to finalise the LMD army. These tunnel-visioned troopers have spent the last two years breaking their backs and their bank balances out on the road, developing their own sound like a rubber ball bouncing between rock, punk and beats, and building a well deserved reputation as a hard-working band.

Debut single, "Killing Time" is totally guaranteed to keep people nailed to the wall with its escapist wailing, managing to separate the masses and then bring them back together, like a drink down the pub after a fight at a wedding. With its infectious beats courtesy of Ash Rowe, and tuning fork bending vocals from Mike Richardson, "Killing Time" tells the tale of hometown grey - a cocktail of contempt, passion, sorrow, and empathy. Lyrics hit the jugular of today's lost generation, "What's it like to run in circles? / What's it like to feel worthless?", until the saga closes with the "runaway" screams of Matt, echoing thoughts of a young protagonist, before the screams are silenced.

There's something different about the sound of this band, though the pop sensibilities of songs like "Just Stay Home" become obviously apparent, with a chorus you'll be singing for weeks, forged with the gravely yet consumable voice of co-frontman Alex, there's a little something extra that manages to arrest the ears and hold you captive. Drawing influences from so many different genres has left Last Man Down very difficult to categorise - 'one of the few bands that sound like no one else, just hanging out with somebody else, but they don't get on very well!'

Last Man Down hit the road in July and you can catch them live on the following dates :

2nd – M Club, Crewe / 18th – Ruby Lounge, Manchester / 25th – Winnington Rec, Northwich / 27th – The Hollybush, Birmingham / 30th – M Club, Crewe

"Killing Time" is release on Karate Kid Records.

INNERPARTYSYSTEM ANNOUNCE APPEARANCE AT PROJEKT REVOLUTION!
‘DON’T STOP’ SINGLE RELEASED JUNE 30th
(Island/Fallout Records)

www.myspace.com/innerpartysystem | www.innerpartysystem.com

‘If you’re looking for some beefy, groove-laden electro-rock then you’re gonna cream your pants at this!’ - Kerrang!

INNERPARTYSYSTEM are confirmed to play the highly-anticipated Projekt Revolution show at Milton Keynes Bowl June 29th. Headlined by Linkin Park, INNERPARTYSYSTEM join Jay-Z, Pendulum, N*E*R*D, Enter Shikari and The Bravery on a bill that threatens to be one of the gigs of the summer!

JOHNNY TRUANT

HEADLINE TOUR ANNOUCED

“…underrated Brighton quintet Johnny Truant could finally find their bullish, brawny metalcore in vogue” Q magazine

“Technically outstanding and sonically devastating, theirs is a set of undeniable metal authority” Kerrang!

“…another brutal metallic assault even more twisted, bitter and distorted…”

Rocksound

"The brightest lights shining on the UK metal scene right now"
Metal Hammer

Johnny Truant just played one of their most intense and brutal shows to date at the Download festival, Donnington this weekend. Aside from ripping the earholes of everyone who watched their performance, Alan Johnny Truant thrashed all the guitar heroes contenders on Fearne & Reggies Radio 1 show. He managed to play ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ on expert without a single fault causing them to think he was possessed by some superior force. Sounds about right.

Come and see this demonic behaviour on their headline tour where they visit every town, city and village over the next few months.

12/06/2008 MOTLEY RECORDS & ELEVEN SEVEN MUSIC TO RELEASE MÖTLEY CRÜE“SAINTS OF LOS ANGELES” ALBUM ON JUNE 23, 2008.

THE FIRST NEW ALBUM IN OVER A DECADE FEATURING ALL 4 ORIGINAL BAND MEMBERS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JUNE 12, 2008.

"The Crüe is back..... and they're grimier than ever" (USA -- ROLLING STONE, MAY 2008)

Be warned! Just when you thought it was safe to come out of the house, the world’s most notorious hard rock band is back, and the story isn't a pretty one, but this time it has a happy ending. No band has consumed as many drugs and downed as much booze without dying as L.A's Mötley Crüe. The Crüe return with “Saints Of Los Angeles”, their first new album with all four original members (Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee and Vince Neil) in over a decade and the ninth studio album of their career. Loosely, based on the band’s autobiographical events with very personal lyrics, the revealing album offers tremendous insight into the lives of the rebellious leaders of the "L.A. Sleaze Rock" movement. The band that defines the L.A. rock scene delivers the soundtrack to that experience inspired by their New York Times best-seller and the must read book, “The Dirt.”

The new Mötley Records album will be released exclusively by Eleven Seven Music and is described by chief songwriter Sixx as, "a tale of dirty needles, damaged minds, music industry battles and a whole lotta sex based on our stories from The Dirt." The band's 2001 autobiography is currently being developed as a major motion picture. The band’s first lead single and video “Saints Of Los Angeles” is already top 5 at Rock stations in the USA and Canada. The single was initially released by Rock Band, the video game series selling 5 x as many digital downloads vs. iTunes in this new platform. Watch this space for a UK release.

Coinciding with the release of Saints Of Los Angeles, Mötley Crüe announced their first annual Crüe Fest 2008, headlining their own version of the Next Great American Rock Festival. The inaugural tour also features Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx:A.M. and trapt. The forty-city tour kicks off July 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Watch this space for news on Motley Crue heading to the UK later this year.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich and rhythm guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, Metallica has become one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands in history, having sold nearly 100 million albums worldwide and playing to millions of fans the world over. They have garnered numerous awards and accolades, including seven Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, and three MTV Video Music Awards.

In addition, their 1991 album, Metallica has been awarded the prestigious "Diamond Award" from the Recording Industry Association of America, given to those albums with U.S. sales of 10 million or more.

FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND

Funeral For A Friend release 'Waterfront Dance Club / Beneath The Burning Tree' double A-side single on July 14th 2008 via Join Us Records

Three gold selling albums. Nine Top 20 singles. Half a decade of global touring taking in Singapore, Thailand, Australasia, Japan, America and every corner of Europe. Twenty plus magazine front covers. FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND are truly a phenomenon.

And in 2008 they are embarking on the greatest part of their adventure yet. They have formed their very own record label, the bullishly titled Join Us Records. Funded by Ingenious Music and built on Integral's (a division of PIAS) formidable infrastructure, this is a move that has energised and excited the Welsh quintet in equal measure.

"We were fortunate to be on a major label for the past five years," says bassist Gareth Davies, "Now we are in a great position to take the time investment that they have already put into us, and walk away, and start afresh, with a clean slate and with the fanbase already in place. This is a great stepping stone for us."

'Waterfront Dance Club' and 'Beneath The Burning Tree' will be Funeral For A Friend's fans first chance to hear the newly invigorated band's current sound. Drawing fire from the muscular intensity of their earlier material and melding it seamlessly to the melodic intelligence of latter albums 'Hours' and 'Tales Don't Tell Themselves', this new material shows the band to be as incisively relevant as ever. WDC will be available as a free download from July 14 and both tracks will grace a limited edition 7" from
the same date.

Now with their own hands at the tiller, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND look destined to add another scintillating chapter to their incredible story.

06/06/2008 ROSE HILL DRIVE – MOON IS THE NEW EARTH (MEGAFORCE)

Rose Hill Drive grew up worshipping guitar-shredding groups like The Who and Van Halen. They never imagined the band they formed in high school would open up for both groups before even releasing an album.

In 2003, guitarist Daniel Sproul, his bassist brother Jacob and drummer friend Nathan Barnes began practicing in the basement of the house on Rose Hill Drive in Boulder, CO, that the Sproul brothers grew up in. The house had been taken over by the boys and their friends, the band was loud, and it was not long before the neighbours took up a petition to kick them out of the neighbourhood.

The band headed out on the road, where they quickly built an underground fan base with thrilling live shows, lyrics that connect and a completely earnest approach. This organic and grass roots process has let the fans and then the music business come to them. It's very important to the band that it happened in that order - music first, business later.

Choosing to sign with Megaforce Records, the band went back into the studio in January 2006 to record their self-titled debut album -- written by all three band members, produced by Rose Hill Drive and Nick DiDia and recorded at Southern Tracks in Atlanta, Georgia. The album was released in August 2006.

After generating great reviews and building an even bigger fan base around the world, 2007 proved to be a major step forward for Rose Hill Drive. They were honoured to play with some of their biggest idols. The boys did a string of dates opening for The Who in 2007 and they were even joined on stage in Chicago by none other than Pete Townshend, who jammed on The Who classic “Young Man Blues” and Rose Hill Drive's very own “Raise Your Hands.” Then, Rolling Stone named them "One of the Top 10 Artists to Watch" in 2007.

After months of relentless touring, hard work and travel around the Universe, Rose Hill Drive returned home to Boulder, CO to write and record their second album, Moon is the new Earth. The new album represents the intense “live” feeling of their show and showcases some the band’s finest songwriting. 12 songs run the gamut of emotions from the head-spinning “Sneak Out” to the muscle-bound “Trans Am” to the tongue-in-cheek “Do You Wanna Get High?” It’s an album that is shaped by an organic nature and is a clear record of their maturity, life experiences and musical explorations. Moon is the new Earth unveils the sound that is Rose Hill Drive.

“Recorded in our hometown in our favourite studio with our favourite people, this music bears our most authentic signature of anything we have created so far. To have made an album like this with my brother and my best friend has been a dream come true,” says Jake.
