ONE REPUBLIC

new single
‘Say (All I Need)’
out June 2nd

‘No need to Apologize for talent’ – London Lite

‘America’s Coldplay’ – Daily Mail

There’s no mistaking that 2008 is shaping up to be an incredible year for OneRepublic. They already have two top five smash hit singles – ‘Apologize’ and ‘Stop and Stare’ - under their belt. Their debut album Dreaming Out Loud peaked at #2 in the UK album charts, shipped Gold in its first week of release and has stayed in the Top Ten for six weeks straight.

Proving that there are more hits stashed away in their locker, this summer OneRepublic return with their stunning third single ‘Say (All I Need)’ released June 2nd through Mosley Music Group/Interscope Records. The B-side will be a striking version of Duffy’s ‘Mercy’, which the band covered on Jo Whiley’s Live Lounge.

‘Say (All I Need)’ is a spine-tingling rock ballad, and is produced by Greg Wells. The video to accompany the single was shot against the romantic backdrop of Paris and features a cameo from rocker Chris Cornell.

OneRepublic will be playing a sold-out show at Shepherds Bush Empire on May 12th, having already impressed fans at their packed-to-the-rafters debut live show at Kings College London last month. Also cementing their status in the UK, they’re confirmed to play this year’s Radio One’s Big Weekend as well as the Channel 4 stage at V2008 sharing the bill with artists like The Courteeners, Kaiser Chiefs and The Zutons.

06/05/2008 Phil Harding will be interviewed by Rock 247 radio tomorrow to discuss his career and artists he has worked with.

Phil Harding has worked with some of the music industries biggest names in the last 30 years. He is also releasing a new single and a book to talk about his days producing some of the biggest hit's of the 80's with Stock, Aitken & Waterman. He featured on the Radio 2 SAW story over Easter.

His current single and album are out now and you can hear the interview at 12 noon on May 7th at www.rock247online.co.uk

From the heart and mind of legendary Producer Phil Harding, comes this storming debut single Flawless Land, taken from the album The Story of Beginners.

Teamed once again with lyricist Mila Bogen, the songs are an intricate mixture of rocking, uplifting and reflective music. Recorded at 7 locations both in the U.K. and U.S.A the album includes virtuoso performances by some of the world's top session musicians.

The result is nothing less than you would expect. A beautifully produced and textured collection of infectious melodies and lyrics that you'll want to hear again and again.

Some of the artists Phil has worked with in a career spanning 30 years include :

KYLIE MINOGUE - EAST 17 - RICK ASTLEY - CHIC - THE JACKSON FIVE - THE FOUR TOPS - DIANA ROSS - PET SHOP BOYS - BOYZONE - THE CLASH - DONNA SUMMER - DEPECHE MODE - BANANARAMA - ERASURE - DEAD OR ALIVE - THE THREE DEGREES - DEBBIE HARRY - JIMMY SOMERVILLE - SINITTA - JIMMY RUFFIN - THELMA HOUSTON - GARY MOORE - T'PAU - LET LOOSE ABC - MEL & KIM - JESUS JONES - LONIE GORDON - ROXETTE - BROTHER BEYOND

Phil Harding started in the music industry aged 16 at the Marquee Studios in 1973. There he worked with some of the top producers in the world as they recorded the great albums of the day.

As Phil's career progressed, a very hot list of credits soon started to stack up with artists as diverse as The Clash, Killing Joke, Toyah and Matt Bianco, all taking advantage of Phil's ever-growing reputation as a top engineer. At the start of the 1980's, the name of a newly formed production team was added to the list – Stock/Aitken/Waterman.

Phil engineered and mixed their first chart successes (Divine and Hazell Dean) then their breakthrough and first No 1 single, 'You Spin Me Round' by Dead or Alive.

The hits came almost faster than you could count them – Mel & Kim, Bananarama, Rick Astley, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys and Kylie Minogue. Phil has just started writing a book about his escapades at PWL in the 80's and is making good headway.By the early 1990's Phil was regarded as pre-eminent in his field and left PWL to set up his own production facility with Ian Curnow at the Strongroom Studio complex in Shoreditch, London.

A further deluge of hits followed but this time with Phil and Ian as producers for: East 17 (including the Christmas No 1 'Stay Another Day'), Deuce, Boyzone, 911, Caught in the Act and Let Loose. Phil is undertaking a radio interview tour to promote his single, forthcoming album and to talk about his heady days at PWL.

02/05/2008 Strawhouses

As summer comes, so does another bank holiday with Strawhouses. The magnificent epic marauders from Liverpool are at the start of a large gig jaunt.

Voted BBC’s unsigned band of the month for November 2007 and more recently Liverpool Echo’s Unsigned band of the week the band are making waves in the industry. A successful acoustic tour 2008 saw half the band winning friends and fans from around the country on their visits to London, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff and Portsmouth.

Appearing on the Steve Lamaq acclaimed unsigned show BBC Raw Talent the band has created curious interest both in the media and in the industry. Strawhouses presents night in March at 3345 Parr Street featured some of the hottest Liverpool acts from The Kambourines, Paul Holden, Sonic Hearts and of course Strawhouses.

Forming in 2007 and inspired by Orwellian conspiracies, their lyrics range from apocalyptic nightmare visions of the future to self conscious, claustrophobic confessions of past mistakes. They epitomize the feeling that we’re all living blissfully unaware that we’re on rather unsteady ground, injecting you with a beautiful sense that your on a cusp of something truly incredible but ever so fragile that it could so easily crumble at any moment.

Tracks like ‘These are The Willing’ and ‘Sunlight’ have gained rave reviews for their diversity to blast sounds of energetic Radiohead and to then beam down to soft undertones of glorious walls of sound. The band truly captures the northern sky line with dark pounding guitars giving that optimistic feel.

The band now back in full are at the start of some very exciting gigs. With a session on the highly acclaimed ‘In The Pool Show’ hosted by Dave Monks on BBC Merseyside Sunday 04th May 8pm. The success of Surface Unsigned Festival in Manchester the band will be in the final rounds playing at Manchester’s Dry Bar in June. Other notable gigs include a Bank Holiday Monday special on 5th May sees them supporting The Rushes at Liverpool Barfly. Then a high class London club night ‘This Feeling’ on May 30th supporting none other than Starsailor. The last club night had the likes of Noel Fielding (Mighty Boosh), The Kills, Pixie Geldof, Jonny Borrell, The View and The Twang turning up.

"The first thing that you notice about Strawhouses is the wonderful, lo-fi scratched vocal of lead singer Paul which meanders between the distinctive tones of Thom Yorke and Neil Young. Only after becoming mesmerised by his halcyon tones do you start to comprehend the quality of the music that you are listening to. Strawhouses are instantaneously brilliant, their melodies haunting you for days after hearing them only once. Well done them." Another Late Night Magazine
"Strawhouses enter the realms of Radiohead via a series of intense & emotional rhythms that fire anthemic arrows. The fiery 4 also drift in to the arenas of Hope of the States & Interpol via their blueprint for the grandiose. Deep lyrics are wed to sweeping music that can build from beauty before unleashing its beast!" Indie-Pendent (Fanzine)
‘Sunlight’ initially plows a similar furrow to the likes of Slint and Sigor Ros , an off kilter beat married to a harmonic riff creating an atmospheric, 4am friendly sound before dropping into a more indie sound. ‘These are the Willing’ is a little more traditional in its approach drawing from the likes of Radiohead and The Verve whilst simultaneously sounding like a chilled out Jimmy Eat World – Sandman Magazine

02/05/2008 THE CURE TO RELEASE NEW SINGLES

THE CURE TO RELEASE NEW SINGLES THE 13TH OF EACH MONTH LEADING UP TO THE RELEASE OF THEIR 13TH STUDIO ALBUM

Single clip available to stream at www.thecure.com.

Santa Monica, California, May 1, 2008 - The Cure, one of the most revered British bands of the past quarter-century, have unveiled their plans to release four A & B side singles, one each month starting May 13th, leading up to the release of their thirteenth studio album, as yet untitled, which will be out on Suretone/Geffen Records September 13th. It will be the band's first album of new music since 2004’s self titled album The Cure. Physical and digital singles will be available for purchase in store and on all digital partners.

Why the 13th of each month? The forthcoming album is The Cure’s thirteenth studio album... A lucky number indeed!

First single “The Only One” (released May 13th) includes the b-side “NY Trip”; second single “Freakshow” (released June 13th) includes the b-side "All Kinds Of Stuff"; neither b-side will appear on the album. Both tracks were produced by Robert Smith and Keith Uddin. July 13th and August 13th singles will be announced shortly...

The band is currently gearing up for a U.S. tour, kicking off May 9th at the Patriot Center in Washington DC (see www.thecure.com for complete tour itinerary.) 65daysofstatic will open on all dates.

Led as always by lead singer/guitarist Robert Smith, the Cure line-up comprises longtime members bass player Simon Gallup, drummer Jason Cooper and, back in the band for a third time, guitarist Porl Thompson.

The Cure first formed in southern England in 1976 as Easy Cure. In 1978 the 'Easy' was dropped, and The Cure was signed to the Fiction label. In May 1979 their debut album Three Imaginary Boys was released to great acclaim.

Other landmark Cure albums include Pornography (1982), The Head on the Door (1985), Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me (1987), Disintegration (1989), Wish (1992), Wild Mood Swings (1996), the Grammy-nominated Bloodflowers (2000) and their last full length release, the self-titled set The Cure (2004). 2006 saw the Suretone/Geffen release of Festival 2005, an award winning 5.1 DVD featuring 30 songs, shot by fans, band members and professionals during the summer of 2005’s European festival run.

01/05/2008 RHINO set to re-issue classic Replacements releases Let It Be – Hootenanny -

Stink EP – Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out the Trash

RELEASE DATE: MAY 26th

This is where the legend of The Replacements begins.

Rhino retraces the shambolic swath the influential Minneapolis quartet cut across the American Underground, reissuing deluxe editions of the band's Twin/Tone releases: SORRY MA, FORGOT TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH, STINK EP, HOOTENANNY and LET IT BE. All have been exquisitely remastered and generously embellished with rare and previously unreleased tracks.

Capturing the early years of the band's acclaimed 1-year run, these three albums and EP spotlight founding members Paul Westerberg, brothers Bob and Tommy Stinson and Chris Mars. The deluxe editions were produced by longtime Replacements manger Peter Jesperson, who also co-produced the original albums. The band was instrumental in selecting the bonus songs, many of which have never been heard-even among the band's most ardent followers.

Released in 1981, SORRY MA, FORGOT TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH was The Replacements' audacious debut. Songs such as "Takin A Ride," "Shiftless When Idle," "Customer" and "Johnny's Gonna Die" herald the band's competing tendencies toward indelible genius and bleary, drunken repugnance. The 13 bonus tracks open appropriately with the four songs Westerberg gave to Jesperson in 1980 that brought the band to Twin/Tone's attention. The deluxe version ends with "If Only You Were Lonely," which was previously released as the B-side of "I'm In Trouble."

The six previously unreleased bonus tracks include an alternate version of "Treatment Bound" and a solo home demo of the lost classic "Bad Worker."

The band will finally release their debut album, tentatively entitled 'Pop Noir', later this summer, They will also play their first UK live date of the year in June (date tbc shortly) before returning to Norway for a jam-packed summer touring and promo schedule.
