SHELS JOIN THE UNDERGROOVE FAMILY AND RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM !!!
*************************************************************************************************

Undergroove is proud to announce it's latest member to the family - the genre-smashing *Shels!

Formed by former Mahumodo frontman Medi Safa *Shels will release their glorious debut album 'Sea Of The Dying Dhow' through Undergroove on June 18.

Recorded both in Medi's current Los Angeles place of residence as well as London, UK, *Shels will simply blow you away!

An hour of progressive emotional soundscapes and raw brutality, 'Sea of the Dying Dhow' also features members of Eden Maine, Mahumodo and Fireapple Red.

Combining beauty and primal intensity in music is a mean feat many can't ever fathom. For *Shels, creating truly loving art that genuinely moves the listener is second nature.

For over an hour 'Sea Of The Dying Dhow' illustrates the passion and uniqueness that music should possess.

'The Sea of The Dying Dhow' opens with over nine minutes of ultimate escapism with the truly inspiring 'The Conference of the Birds'. Tender acoustics, strings, and brass wrapped up in wondrous glistening soundscapes and gentle yet thunderous drums truly encapsulate throughout.

'The White Umbrella' drives a harder edge, while 'Water' sees *Shels promote their ability to write a perfect infectious emotional pop ditty. The title track is a brooding hard-hitting monster, while the album closes with 'In Dead Palm Fields'. A romantic nine-plus minute that erupts with fervour, crushing your senses to complete overdrive.

*Shels was formed in 2004 following the split of Medi's former band Mahumodo. While some of his former bandmates went on to form Devil Sold His Soul, Medi (born in America of Lebanese and Iranian parents) relocated to Los Angeles. There he wrote the music that has become *Shels. Taking inspiration from past experiences Safa was unafraid to push his musical boundaries further in his artistic vision.  Bringing in a credible set of musicians - former members of Eden Maine (Undergroove) and Fireapple Red (Visible Noise) - Medi is realising his musical dream.

After the self-release of *Shels debut EP, "WingsForTheirSmiles' (2004), *Shels debut album proper 'The Sea Of The Dying Dhow' captures easily one of the most forward thinking progressive rock bands ever to come out of the UK's underground.

'Sea of the Dying Dhow' is released on Undergroove on June 18 2007.

***APRIL / MAY UK & IRISH TOUR FOLLOWS RAVE REVIEWS OF NEW ‘BROADCAST TO THE WORLD’ ALBUM ON SPV RECORDS***

“If you’re looking for pedigree, Orange County’s Zebrahead have it. They’ve toured with Green Day and with Stone Temple Pilots; they have a producer, Cameron Webb, who has worked with Social Distortion and Tenacious D; the video for the track ‘Anthem’ features an appearance from Lemmy, all of which gathered them a nomination for a Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category…’Broadcast To The World’ mixes popular punk, popular metal and functional hip hop together like gravy in a cement mixer.” Ian Winwood, Metal Hammer, Summer 2006 issue.

“Crammed with radio-friendly hooks and peppered with rapper Ali Tabatabaee’s rhymes, ‘Broadcast…’ comes on like an unholy alliance of Sum 41, Good Charlotte and Linkin Park” – Paul Travers, Kerrang! August 12th 2006.

Zebrahead, who released their highly acclaimed fourth album 'Broadcast to the World' in August 2006 on SPV Records, hit the road in the UK and Ireland in April and May playing the following shows:-

27th April Tunbridge Wells Forum
28th April London Earl's Court – “Give It A Name” Festival
29th April Birmingham NIA – “Give It A Name” Festival
30th April Belfast Auntie Annie's
1st May Dublin The Hub
2nd May Newcastle Academy 2
3rd May Glasgow Cathouse
5th May Swindon Furnace
6th May Leeds Cockpit

Hailing from Orange County in California, Zebrahead are... Matty Lewis (vocals and guitar), Ali Tabatabaee (vocals), Greg Bergdorf (guitar), Ben Osmundson (bass) and Ed Udhus (drums).

Zebrahead sold out London’s Underworld on 27th September 2006. Kerrang’s Raz Rauf rave reviewed the gig on 14th October 2006. “When did being infectious become such a good thing? It’s like chicken pox: you want to get this while you’re young, or you’ll suffer if afflicted later in life. It’s for the best. Accordingly, Zebrahead have catered their onstage banter to their loving disciples. From the moment they step onto the stage, right until they make their final farewells, toilet humour gushes from their filthy mouths and swirls round and around the sweaty bowl that is The Underworld. With the fans singing along to all songs and laughing at all the puerile gags, the band has them safely in the palms of their hands. American pogo punk hasn’t been this exiting since Blink 182 decided to grow up.”

THE HOLD STEADY make quality rock’n’roll. Like Thin Lizzy playing Jonathan Richman songs or AC/DC riffing through Springsteen’s ‘Born To Run’. The Brooklyn-based Minneapolis-bred band are drawing comparisons with all of those plus The Replacements, Guided By Voices, Van Morrison, Girls Against Boys and Hüsker Dü.

Taken from the current album ‘Boys And Girls In America’ (a reference to a line from Jack Kerouac's classic novel ‘On the Road’) ‘Stuck Between Stations’ is perhaps the albums signature tune. Singer Craig Finn explains, "The line goes, 'Boys and girls in America have such a sad time together.' Basically, the songs on the album are about guys and girls, and love.” Make that doomed or unrequited love and throw in drug abuse, suicide and gambling and you get the picture.” The songs are populated by larger than life characters like you’d expect on a Tom Waits record.

In combination with Finn’s lyrical wit and wisdom, Tad Kubler’s guitar is a driving force - the guitars are louder, the solos are longer and the result is a classic rock n roll. With ‘Boys And Girls In America’, THE HOLD STEADY show their love of writing, making and playing rock n roll for the sake of it; ripe with anthemic choruses, genre defining and mind blowing guitar solos, great lyrics and the masterful mix of the keyboards, drums and bass along with several sonic treats. Kubler sums it up, "We're not reinventing rock music here. We're just trying to carry on a tradition that has always been in our lives."

24/04/2007 Zico Chain

New single ‘Where Would You Rather Be?’

Released May 7th on Hassle Records
www.myspace.com/thezicochain

You must’ve noticed there’s something big happening in British rock – young, hungry bands reacting against formulaic US rock-by-numbers who’re over-hyped, over-cooked, over-here and soon to be over….period. The Charge Of The Dark Brigade has begun.

Zico Chain are three lads in their early twenties, who are part of this new slew of UK guitar bands. They’re sick of the (scr)emo-attention-seeking, and want to grab their own slice of the pie. The trio have distilled the punk riffola of Motorhead, the druggy vision of QOTSA, the musical skills and visual impact of the White Stripes, and a 21st century homegrown social consciousness. It’s a potent brew, worthy of a hard-rocking, hard-living, hard-thinking east London outfit.

Touring the UK with Alkaline Trio, Thursday, Wolfmother, Fall Of Troy and Nine Black Alps before recording their album in LA with godfather of rock Joe Barresi (Bad Religion, Tool, QOTSA), Zico Chain have been winning over friends, lovers and bartenders on both sides of the Atlantic with their message…..Celebrate Yourself, Use Your Voice, Get Fucked Up.

Their debut single ‘Where Would You Rather Be?’ sounds like survival itself, kicking off about hopelessness and mental escapism with a daylight shredding voice over a sick rhythm section rumble….. “Low living my system crashed, God gave me an autograph… No future, that’s for sure, so stop trying and pray for cures.”

Already a Radio 1 rock show Record Of The Week, it’s released on the 7th of May through Hassle Records. The band also embark on a mammoth UK tour during April and May...

GuilFest, the UK's Best Family Festival (UK Festival Awards 2006) rolls confidently into its 16th year, with an as vibrant and eclectic line up as ever. Established legends are joined by rising stars and bands of the moment as more names are added to the three day, Unison sponsored event, held in Stoke Park Guilford over the 13th, 14th and 15th of July.

Supporting Friday headliners Supergrass on the BBC Radio Two Main Stage will be Indie rock leading lights The Ordinary Boys, fronted by Sam Preston, whose recent infamous appearance on Never Mind The Buzzcocks reflected the punk attitude and confidence that has helped make this band such an energising live act.

Fresh from a sell out US tour will be the critically acclaimed Dublin based Mexican duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela, who will display their unique talent at playing unbelievably fast, rhythmic electro acoustic guitar – something that has already made them a major festival attraction throughout Europe and given them a number 1 album.

Saturday's BBC Radio Two Main Stage, headlined by the reunited Squeeze, sees the category defying, globally successful Morcheeba take the penultimate slot with their unique blend of soul, hip hop, blues, country and electronica. Their million plus selling 'Big Calm' album started a string of gold selling albums in the UK and set the precedence for a whole new genre in the late1990's. Festival organisers are sure that the ambient musical dreamscapes they weave will be perfect for GuilFest's rich mix of followers.

Bringing the BBC Radio Two Main Stage to a close on Sunday will be Madness, who are back with their unique brand of nutty boy ska for a welcome return. Supporting is undoubtedly one of today's most successful acts The Magic Numbers. Having won a string of musical accolades, including Best New Act award in 2005 (MOJO), this tight knit quartet hasn't put a commercial or artistic foot wrong since bursting on the scene and GuilFest are very pleased to have them for one of only a few UK dates this summer.

Perennial favourites The Saw Doctors make a welcome return to headline the Ents24 Stage on Friday while folk legend Richard Thompson, founder member of Fairport Convention tops the bill Saturday. There will be a former Spider From Mars on stage when Prog-rock legends Uriah Heep make a rare UK festival appearance, to close proceedings on the Ents24 Stage on Sunday evening.

GuilFest prides itself on rediscovering lost gems, this year that act is the utterly unique, three times Grammy nominated soul reggae rock steady stars Toots and The Maytals. Led by Toots Hibbert, one of the great voices of Jamaica, this group formed in 1962, is sited by an endless list of famous peers, young and old, including Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt and No Doubt - all of whom have collaborated on the latest album True Love - as a hugely important and influential outfit in the history of funk, roots, reggae rave disco and gospel music. With no less than 31 number 1 hits under their belt in their homeland, GuilFest tips this group to be one of the festivals highlights. Toots and The Maytals will perform on the BBC Radio Two Main Stage on Sunday the 15th.

The line up over GuilFest’s seven music stages will continue to grow over the
next few weeks and along with top performers for both the comedy and theatre tent, great facilities across the board including the Kidzone, mammoth bar, clean toilets and huge variety of stalls selling everything you could ever hope to find at a festival, organisers are determined to make this year festival the best GuilFest-ival ever.

GuilFest will be setting the precedent yet again for a family event with its
relaxed vibe and friendly atmosphere.

Tickets are now on sale and are available on-line at www.guilfest.co.uk or
by calling the Ticket Hotline on 0871 424 0050.

22/04/2007 Herege - Remastered songs available only on Internet

- The traditional heavy metal band HEREGE posted new versions of the songs "Call Me Herege" and "Flag of the Metal", originally released in the 2003 demo Rise of the Fair, Fall of the Church.

About the new songs the guitarist Dalton Castro, responsible for remastering them, comments: "...since those songs are really good and when we recorded them the production quality was low, I decided to add some details which make them to sound with more energy. Right now we decided to make these versions exclusive for Internet instead of adding as bonus, but maybe we do it in future editions."

The new versions are available in the band's website , www.herege.com and MySpace, www.myspace.com/heregemetal

Actually Herege is finishing their debut full length and will give more information about it soon

KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES release ME ME ME single and confirm DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL appearance!
*****************************************************************************************************************************
Much talked about Cardiff quintet Kids In Glass Houses have just been confirmed to appear at this years Download Festival. More details on stage times and festival date shortly. "It's amazing. we get to play with Marilyn Manson, our main influence. I'm just kidding. Seriously though, we're really excited to play Donington Park, it's going to be amazing to say we've played such a massive festival alongside some huge bands. We can't wait!" says drummer Philip Jenkins.

As a follow up to the well received ‘E-Pocalypse’ demo, which has now sold over 1500 copies, the band will be issuing their first official release on Monday 11th June, in the form of a limited edition vinyl and download single for ‘Me, Me, Me’. The 7” vinyl version will be limited to a mere 500 copies, all of which will be signed and numbered by the band. Both versions of the single will feature a demo of new track, ‘Pink Suede’, as the b-side.

According to frontman, Aled, ‘Me, Me, Me’ is about “growing up in a narrow minded secular community, a little too set in its ways, with the unspoken fear of progress being deemed alien or foreign.” On the proof of KIGH’s already impressive rise, progress is nothing alien or foreign to the Cardiff based five piece.

17/04/2007 TIGER ARMY NEW ALBUM AND UK TOUR DATES:

On June 4th, Tiger Army and Hellcat Records will unleash Music >From Regions Beyond, hailed as one of 2007's "Most Anticipated Albums" by Alternative Press.

The Southern California trio follow-up to 2004's widely acclaimed III: Ghost Tigers Rise with producer Jerry Finn (AFI, Morrissey, Rancid). The forthcoming album, the first in the band's catalogue without a number in its title, is set to include the strongest material of Tiger Army's career in the form of songs such as "Forever Fades Away" and "LunaTone."

Immediately following the album's completion, Tiger Army will headline the "Return from Beyond" tour across Europe. After that: a summer long slot on the 2007 Vans Warped Tour's main stage.

The three years between Music from Regions Beyond and Ghost Tigers have seen Tiger Army transform from a mere band to an international phenomenon.

After a lengthy run as direct support for Social Distortion, Tiger Army's own "Dark Romance Tour" ended with a five night stand at the Hollywood House Of Blues, followed a few months later by four nights back-to-back at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, California. All nine shows sold-out in advance.

A handful of shows with Morrissey in the US and UK preceded a fall 2006 tour with AFI. The AFI/ Tiger Army tour ended in front of a capacity crowd at the legendary Long Beach Arena, recently documented on the platinum selling band's new DVD (which also includes a guest appearance from Nick 13, who performs the song “A Single Second” with AFI).

Tiger Army's Music from Regions Beyond is sure to become another benchmark to the band's devoted legions who relate to the group's tales of lost love, alienation, self-reliance and esoteric spirit. Many of the band's fans adorn themselves with tattoos of the Tiger Army’s signature "TigerBat" logo across their backs, chests and even hands and necks.

Tiger Army's self-titled first album (featuring AFI's Adam Carson on drums) still serves as a blueprint for new bands. II: Power of Moonlite remains a cult favorite. And III: Ghost Tigers Rise sharpened the song-craft and introduced even more 80s sensibilities, a la The Cure or New Order.

Expect Music from Regions Beyond to fully encapsulate and solidify the Tiger Army vision even more than any of its predecessors, seamlessly blending the most extreme elements with the smoothest invocations to the romance of darkness.

MEGAFORCE SIGNS DEAL WITH PUNK ICONS BAD BRAINS!

BEASTIE BOYS' ADAM YAUCH PRODUCES!

New Album "Build A Nation" To Be Released Summer 2007!

New York/London -- April, 2007 -- Megaforce Records is proud to announce it has entered into a worldwide deal with the legendary punk band Bad Brains. The new album will be released worldwide June 2007. Adam Yauch (MCA of the Beastie Boys) produced Build A Nation and it represents the first recording, aside from Beastie Boys' recordings, from the Beastie Boys' Oscilloscope laboratories and studio. The Bad Brains recently honoured the legendary punk club CBGB' closing in late-2006 by performing three shows, which sold-out in record time.

"The Brains are one of most powerful and unique bands in the world. They have been a huge influence on me, and it was an honour to work with them on this record," comments Adam Yauch.

Considered by some to be the "holy grail" of punk rock, the Bad Brains iconic legacy is best defined by their frenetic and legendary live shows. The Bad Brains are one of the definitive American punk groups who garner the same respect as the Sex Pistols, Black Flag, The Clash, and the Ramones. The band brought a new dimension to music by melding punk and reggae into an innovative style that has yet-to-be copied. And with this forthcoming release, the band essentially return to their early roots with a raw, analog-driven chaos.

"It's such an honour to be working with such an iconic and pioneering band. They are one of the most important and influential bands still working today. And with Adam Yauch producing, it is history in the making," comments co-owner of Megaforce, Robert John. "Adam and Darryl were essential in getting all the original members (HR, Darryl Jenifer, Dr. Know, Earl Hudson) into the studio in NYC to create this magical album. It's organic and powerful."

A Bad Brains worldwide tour will commence, including several festival appearances, this summer in conjunction with the album's release.

10/04/2007 TONIGHT IS GOODBYE release ‘THE BIRDS AND THE BEES’ EP on Monday 21st May 2007, through Tree Brain Records.

For any young band, especially one who boast an average age of just 17, losing two members at a stage when everything seems to be clicking can be fatal. Not for Buckinghamshire tykes Tonight Is Goodbye. After some time out to re-group, re-think and get back on track, the quintet found themselves onstage at London’s Brixton Academy alongside heavyweights such as Taking Back Sunday, Alexisonfire and Underoath. Coupled with an £8,000 worth donation of gear from Ernie Ball and a headline slot at a sold out Profilefest to over 1,000 people, that time out seems to have paid off.

In addition to their Taste of Chaos appearance, the group found themselves on a Drive Thru Records compilation CD, as well as embarking on a UK tour with hotly-tipped duo I Was a Cub Scout, a tour that further proved invaluable to the bands growth and learning curve. As the year drew to a close, Tonight Is Goodbye were putting the finishing touches to material, in order to record their debut EP in the New Year. ‘The Birds and The Bees’ was recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading, under the wing of producer John Mitchell, whose recent credits include Enter Shikari’s ‘Take To The Skies’ album and Funeral For A Friend’s demos for their Hours album.
Whilst young, Tonight Is Goodbye are by no means naïve. “Everyone is singing other peoples songs, know the words, but they just can’t sing it like the singer does,” croons vocalist West on ‘You and Your Tune’, a remark aimed at copycat bands and rip-off merchants, currently doing the rounds on the UK touring circuit.

‘The Birds and The Bees’ is a classy, self-assured introduction to a band who have the ability and drive to establish themselves as essential members of the UK’s ‘ones to watch’ club.

02/04/2007 SAXON
***STARS OF HARVEY GOLDSMITH’S ‘GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER’ C4 DOCUMENTARY APRIL 10TH RELEASE ‘IF I WAS YOU’ SINGLE APRIL 16th & TOUR UK & IRELAND IN MAY***

English hard rocking heavy metal legends Saxon, who star in Channel 4’s ‘Get Your Act Together’ programme (fronted by Harvey Goldsmith) on April 10th, have now confirmed the release their ANTI GUN CRIME single featured on the show, ‘If I Was You’, on SPV Records on April 16th. All proceeds from the single will be split equally between The Non Violence Foundation and the Gun Control Network – see www.nonviolenceuk.org.uk and www.gun-control-network.org for details.

‘If I Was You’ is taken from Saxon’s just released, highly acclaimed 18th studio album ‘The Inner Sanctum’, which went straight into the UK Rock album chart at number 4. Reviewing the LP in Kerrang!’s March 24th issue, Nick Ruskell enthused; “Sounding a good 20 years younger than their birth certificates say, there’s no messing here, just a load of solid heavy metal tunes played with the energy and conviction of a band right at the top of their game, and although they may be older, wiser and greyer than they used to be, Saxon are still way above par when it comes to delivering the metal.”

Saxon have also rescheduled their UK & Irish tour, which was postponed last month when singer Biff Byford contracted a throat infection and lost his voice. Dates are:-

14th May MANCHESTER Academy 2 (£16.00)
15th May LONDON – Astoria (£16.00)
16th May NOTTINGHAM Rock City (£16.00)
17th May DUBLIN Temple Bar Music Centre (36 Euros)
19th May GLASGOW Garage (£17.50)
20th May WOLVERHAMPTON Civic Hall (£16.00)
21st May CARDIFF Coal Exchange (£16.00)

ANTHOLOGY RELEASED APRIL 9TH ON RHINO

Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice have reunited as Heaven And Hell and are embarking on a major tour of UK Arenas in November. Tickets for the unique opportunity to see this classic lineup reunited for the first time in 15 years, go on sale on Friday 30th March.

On April 9th, Rhino Records will release the first comprehensive introduction to the lineup’s vastly overlooked legacy, ‘Black Sabbath, The Dio Years’, featuring a dozen classic studio recordings, one live track and three new songs, especially recorded late in 2006 for inclusion on this compilation.

The compilation spotlights Dio's time with Black Sabbath, drawing heavily from the group's 1980 record ‘Heaven And Hell’ and its 1981 follow-up, ‘Mob Rules’. With these albums now recognized as back-to-back metal classics, this compilation features such signature songs as ‘Neon Knights’, ‘Die Young’, ‘Turn Up The Night’, ‘Voodoo’, and, of course, the title tracks of both albums. ‘The Dio Years’ also features ‘After All (The Dead)’, ‘TV Crimes’ and ‘I’ from the singer's brief reunion with Sabbath for the ‘Dehumanizer’ album and tour. On April 16th, Rhino will release one of the new tracks, ‘The Devil Cried’, as a download only single. TYPE O NEGATIVE
***JUNE UK TOUR FOLLOWS RAVE REVIEWS OF NEW ‘DEAD AGAIN’ CD ***

“Distilling and blending a career’s worth of invention into 10 stunning tracks, they’ve created a wet dream of a record. Packed with thick Sabbathy guitars, lush epic melodies, breakneck stompers, deep romanticism, biting sarcasm and a sprawling sense of morbidity, this really bears every hallmark of vintage Type O without simply recycling past glories. KKKK” – Dan Slessor, Kerrang! March 17th 2007.

Multi-million selling Gothic Doom Metallers Type O Negative, who released ‘Dead Again’, their first studio for four years, on SPV Records on March 19th, have confirmed a headline UK tour in June. Dates are:-

19th June Manchester Academy 2
20th June Birmingham Academy
21st June London Astoria

Clocking in at 77.35 minutes, ‘Dead Again’, Type O’s seventh studio album, a 10-song musical journey through the darkest depths of the human condition, is a glorious return to the sonic bombast that the Brooklyn-based band is famous for.

Love, loss, insanity, morality, mayhem, your secret dreams and worst nightmares are all included in the Type O Negative formula created by the self-taught professor of emotional chemistry, Peter Steele (Vox/bass). Recorded and Produced by Steele and Josh Silver (keys) the sound of darkness is prophetic, the rock is hard, and the screams are real.

No other band pairs metallic maliciousness, self-contemptuous cynicism, world- and love -weariness, epic melancholia and danceable pop appeal as perfectly, and never is this more apparent than on ‘Dead Again’.

Type O Negative signed a new record deal with SPV in 2005, and reaffirmed and resolute, they recorded ‘Dead Again’, ten killer songs, liberally infused with massive, melodic, gloomy, down-tuned guitar riffs and Peter Steele’s dry, morbid and self-ironic sense of humour.

On ‘Dead Again’ Type O Negative bring you news from a darker place…A place of infinitely organized chaos where the living cannot be swayed from their infinite circle of creation and destruction.
