‘Acceptable In The 80’s’ Release Dates: Download: 5th March 2007 CD: 12th March 2007 Label – Fly Eye / Columbia www.calvinharris.tv / www.myspace.com/calvinharristv
This is music that wants to get people dancing again. Calvin Harris is making his mark on 2007 in fine style.
Acceptable In The 80s is Calvin’s first proper single release. It sparkles with highgloss, glitz and glamour like a disco ball catching the light. A masterpiece of hooks and gushing synths, Acceptable In The 80s is testament to the talent at work. Not afraid to handle vocal duties himself, Calvin is a rare commodity indeed. Exhibiting a creative and inventive edge, but still undeniably pop, Calvin’s music is already picking up rave reviews and daytime Radio 1 play. Just 23 years old and hailing from Dumfries, this young Scot made his debut album I Created Disco in his bedroom on a battered old Amiga computer. Now touring with a full band and an explosive live show, this is really something very special. Calvin Harris just completed successful shows at the Proud galleries in London on the 15th February and at Chalk at the Scala on the 17th February and is now set to head off around the country with Faithless (and playing to over 100,000 people in the process!) in March. You really need to come and see what the fuss is about. Remixes on the single are courtesy of The Glimmers and Tom Neville, which both do the job perfectly. Tracklisting CD promo: Acceptable

RETURN TO THE UK WITH A NEW SINGLE AND TOUR. Hard rockers Buckcherry return to the UK for three dates in March in London, Glasgow and Nottingham. At the same time, the band will also be promoting a new single “Next 2 You” released on March 19th taken from their current album “15” which has sold over 800,000 copies in the USA to date. Buckcherry turned to fans for inspiration for the video for "Next 2 You”. The idea was spawned from a contest where Buckcherry fans submitted their own videos for the single on Youtube.com and MySpace.com. The band then took their cue from one of the user-generated clips and together with director P.R. Brown developed a big-budget version of the concept inspired by their fans Syd and Lexy, whose own "Next 2 You" video has accumulated over 50,000 views to date. Tickets are on sale now and are all subject to booking fee. Supporting Buckcherry will be The Backyard Babies and Damone.
Online and Credit Cards bookings www.meanfiddler.com; www.seetickets.com, www.cpllive.co.uk and www.alt-tickets.co.uk Buckcherry’s most recent dates in the UK generated rave reviews from the critics: Classic Rock deemed last September’s show in Nottingham “incendiary” while Kerrang gave the same show 4 K’s. Following their massive success in the USA in 2006 with both Fifteen and their single “Crazy Bitch” which reached No.3 in the US rock chart, Buckcherry recently received their first Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance. Buckcherry lead singer and co-founder Josh Todd reacted to the news of their Grammy nomination & tour, “Who would have thought you could record an album in fifteen days, release it independently, have it go gold and get nominated for a Grammy in less than a year? When we started this project, no one believed in it except our management company and us. It’s exciting and shows that if you’re passionate and work hard anything can happen. The band and I are really excited to be taking our show to our fans in Europe and re-visiting the UK!” Formed in 1995 in Los Angeles, Buckcherry went the independent route after being orphaned by the demise of DreamWorks, their home for two records, Buckcherry (1999) and Time Bomb (2001). TODD and NELSON reunited to play a benefit for the late drummer Randy Castillo, after which they were recruited by Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum to play in the now infamous GNR project that eventually evolved into Velvet Revolver. “By the end, I was spent dealing with all the egos, I needed some time off,” explains NELSON who received a co-writing credit on Velvet Revolver’s “Dirty Little Thing.” The duo continued to write songs, explains TODD. “It made us realize how fun it was to be in a band again; we focused on what mattered, the music.” Revitalized and inspired after recruiting D., MURIEL and ASHHURST, the band recorded 15 in 15 days. “BUCKCHERRY is a rock ‘n’ roll band. We wanted to get the vibe back which made us so explosive,” says TODD. “We went into the studio and vowed not come out until we had a successful, ass-kicking, career-defining album.” Band Links: www.buckcherry.com www.myspace.com/buckcherry |

| 19/02/2007 | ****************************************************************************************************** FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES release 'Holding A Wolf By The Ears' album on April 9 !! ****************************************************************************************************** "When you're holding a wolf by the ears, it's a dangerous situation and there's no way to escape without injury. For us, it's like a build up of energy that can't be restrained forever," so says Francis Mark, drummer and newly appointed frontman of the hard rock band FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES, when talking about the title of the seven-year-old band's fourth full-length release. This New York quartet's latest opus heralds a new beginning for the band. "I want to do everything I can to get people to realize that this is really like a new band," says frontman Francis Mark. The most recognizable sign of this reinvention is Mark's recent shift from drummer to drummer AND full-time vocalist, a result of the departure of former lead singer Benjamin Perri. But over the course of the album's 12 tracks, it becomes clear that for the band more has changed than just a voice. Holding a Wolf by The Ears finds From Autumn to Ashes playing with a level of passion and intensity not seen since their 2001 debut, Too Bad You're Beautiful. Fans will still find the searing guitars and bone-crunching rhythms, but there's a new duality - a much heavier sound buoyed by the focused melodies that introduce the listener to Mark's surprisingly dynamic vocal range. For Mark, one of the most important tracks on Holding a Wolf By The Ears is the album's opener, "Deth Kult Social Club," which recalls the visceral, raw hardcore that inspired him as a youth. "I was pretty happy with that song, because we started tapping into certain elements of hardcore bands that I was really inspired by as a young kid," he explains. "When I was 13 or 14 and started going to hardcore shows, it was a battle. People were so passionate about what was going on that they were hanging from the ceiling. So when I heard what we had going on with 'Deth Kult Social Club' I remember thinking 'I can't wait to play that song live.'" Fans will get plenty of chances to experience this "new" band, with multiple tours already lined up for 2007. With the aid of guitarist Rob Lauritsen, who joined the band last summer, and the addition of a new touring drummer, From Autumn To Ashes have nothing holding them back. "Music is the one thing on this planet that brings me the most enjoyment," confesses Mark. "I don't have a plan B, because if I'm not doing this, I don't intend on doing anything at all." * From Autumn To Ashes have sold over
300'000 albums in US alone. |
