************************************************************************** EASYKILL hit the road with Hundred Reasons THIS MONTH !!! ************************************************************************** Punk/grunge/alternative noiseniks Easykill hit the road at the end of this month in support of fellow rockers Hundred Reasons. The tour was to take place at the end of last year in support of their debut album 'National Record Of Achievement' which was released in November on UglyTruth/SonyBMG, but due to health issues in Hundred Reasons camp the tour was postponed till now. With a sound described as "Rage Against The Machine meets Fugazi", Easykill's punk spirit runs deep throughout their heavy grunge-influenced soul, which looks set to do for Cornwall what Funeral For A Friend and Lostprophets have done to put Wales on the musical map. Catch the guys at one of their following shows: January Sat 27 - Nottingham, Rock w/Hundred Reasons Sun 28 - Preston, 53 Degrees w/Hundred Reasons Mon 29 - Exeter, University w/Hundred Reasons Tues 30 - Portsmouth, Wedgewood Rooms w/Hundred Reasons February Fri 2 - Redditch, The Liberal Sat 17 - Witham, Witham Spring Lodge "When everyone is an easy target, easily dispensable, easily replaceable, easily hurt, easily pleased, easily led and easily replicated, then it's not an easy time to live in. Everyone is an easykill and enemy lines are a whole lot closer..." PRAISE FOR EASYKILL : ****************************** "Young Cornish band Easykill sound like a nascent Warrior Soul, and at this early stage in their career that is praise indeed. Definitely ones to watch" - Kerrang! "Record companies are sniffing around the foursome's ankles, mainly thanks to their Deftones guitars and the poses thrown by singer Kye Blackett" - NME "Solos like Jerry Cantrel wrestling Tom Morello's guitar and a vocal delivery like an evil Dave Grohl out-shouting Kurt Cobain" - Metal Hammer "A great debut single (Think It Over), a set of riff heavy songs influenced by Foo Fighters, Fugazi and Soundgarden, an energetic live show and a rapidly growing fanbase" - Sunday Times Culture |

‘Attack’ Single & First UK Live Dates 30 Seconds To Mars will release ‘Attack’ on 19th February; the first single to be taken from their hugely successful U.S. album, ‘A Beautiful Lie’. 30 Seconds To Mars was formed by Jared Leto, who is famous for his roles in such films as Requiem For a Dream and Fight Club, and set to play John Lennon’s murderer in next year’s biopic of Mark Chapman; Chapter 27. The band comprises: Jared Leto, vocals and guitar; Shannon Leto, drums; Tomo Milicevic, guitars; and Matt Wachter, bass. Since forming in 2001 and releasing their debut album in 2002, they have gone from strength-to-strength as musicians, songwriters and live performers, with the new abum selling over 900,000 copies to date in the U.S. The success of this album was further acknowledged by MTV, who awarded the band MTV Best Video Award for the video to their ‘The Kill’ single. ‘Attack’ features vast, abrasive guitars and infectious vocals, which soar from a pain-stricken wail to an intimate whisper. It’s an introduction to a lyrically direct and progressive album, which is lean and impacting, with focussed eclecticism which compliments the honesty of the songwriting. From start to finish, ‘A Beautiful Lie’ is a story riddled with pain, frustration, ambition, and ultimately purification. It's not a concept album per se, but it's certainly conceptual, unravelling like scenes from a spellbinding film about a man on the precipice of collapse who has to change in order to move forward. 30 Seconds To Mars will head to the UK in January for promo and live dates: Wed 31st Jan MDH Academy 2, Manchester (upgraded from Roadhouse) Thurs 1st Feb Electric Ballroom, London (upgraded from Underworld) Both gigs upgraded due to demand. ‘Attack’ will be released on 19th February, followed by the album ‘A Beautiful Lie’ on 26th.

Noise Presents
The Legacy and the brilliant ‘Solitude’ mini album, release date 26th February 2007. leg•a•cy – Pronounciation:
(leg'?-se) The aim of The Legacy is to create fast intense hardcore with a heap of melody and passion thrown in. Frontman Adam and drummer Andy originally met at school, and, inspired by bands like Black Flag, Minor Threat and Rites of Spring, decided to form a band of their own in 2002. They soon met bassist Joey and guitarist Dick, both of whom were playing in other local Hardcore bands at the time. Thus, The Legacy was born. After a well received demo The Legacy released their first EP ‘Dead Weight’ on UK label Dead and Gone Records in late 2003. Throughout 2004 the band continued to tour, leaving their own legacy (see what we did there?) on the UK, whilst also working on the next EP. December 2004 saw the release of ‘We Gave it Everything’. Promotion for this tour came in the form of a massive European tour in the winter months of 2005 with US punkers Life Long Tragedy. The successful tour covered Belgium, Holland, Germany, Poland, Austria and of course the UK, and was so extensive that the van gave out, forcing them to push a 2.5 tonne van five miles down a French motorway in the middle of the night! Nevertheless, it was all worth it, and the band has won over crowds from all over Europe. The title of the forthcoming EP, ‘Solitude’, available 26th Feb 2007 on Visible Noise, reflects their feelings on individuality in the often overly simplistic UK hardcore scene. The EP’s dark, evocative artwork is supplied by Dan Mumford, soon to be featured in Metal Hammer’s Art of Darkness section. Musically, ‘Solitude’ follows a harder, faster sound, while still conserving the band’s passionate, melodic qualities, and will be supported by dates in both the UK and Europe in May 2007. The

| 11/01/2007 | The Hold Steady ‘Boys and Girls in America’ –Debut UK Album out 15th January 2007 ‘Damn you, Hold Steady! How can any band be this good?’ - ROLLING STONE
When a low profile album on a small label makes all the End Of Year Polls (New York Times, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Spin, Blender, Alternative Press, Village Voice, Magnet etc.) you have to take notice. This is what happened the US at the end of 2005 with THE HOLD STEADY. Now signed to Vagrant Records, they have recorded a new album, ‘Boys And Girls In America’ which is already getting startling advance reviews in the USA (see above). ‘Boys And Girls In America’ will be their debut UK album and is due out 15th January 2007 on Vagrant UK, preceded in November by a limited edition 7” single . No wonder, as THE HOLD STEADY make quality rock’n’roll. Like Thin Lizzy playing Jonathan Richman songs or AC/DC riffing through Springsteen’s ‘Born To Run’. The Brooklyn-based Minneapolis-bred band are drawing comparisons with all of those plus The Replacements, Guided By Voices, Van Morrison, Girls Against Boys and Hüsker Dü. ‘Boys And Girls In America’ is a reference to a line from Jack Kerouac's classic novel ‘On the Road’. Singer Craig Finn explains, "The line goes, 'Boys and girls in America have such a sad time together.' Basically, the songs are about guys and girls, and love.” Make that doomed or unrequited love and throw in drug abuse, suicide and gambling and you get the picture. The songs are populated by larger than life characters like you’d expect on a Tom Waits record. ‘Boys And Girls In America’ was recorded this summer with producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Alice Cooper, Dinosaur Jr, Drive By Truckers, etc.) The boys stayed close to home for the 30 day recording process, with tracking at Water Music in (Hoboken), Overdubs at Atomic Studios (Williamsburg) and Mixing at The Magic Shop (New York City). John Agnello reflects on the process, "It's pretty impressive that each guy in the band outdid themselves when it came down to laying down tracks" and sums up his opinion of the album, ‘Boys And Girls In America’ has the intensity of a modern day ‘Born To Run’, while displaying effervescence of the likes of Guided By Voices and Drive By Truckers, while still managing to sound only like THE HOLD STEADY." In combination with Finn’s lyrical wit and wisdom, Tad Kubler’s guitar is a driving force of the new album - the guitars are louder, the solos are longer and the result is a classic rock n roll record in the making. With ‘Boys And Girls In America’, THE HOLD STEADY show their love of writing, making and playing rock n roll for the sake of it; ripe with anthemic choruses, genre defining and mind blowing guitar solos, great lyrics and the masterful mix of the keyboards, drums and bass along with several sonic treats. From evocative and heartfelt ballads to booming bar-room rock anthems, ‘Boys and Girls In America’ successfully captures the essence and dynamic off-the-cuff musical mastery that is THE HOLD STEADY. Kubler sums it up, "We're not reinventing rock music here. We're just trying to carry on a tradition that has always been in our lives." Agello
comments: "Craig’s performances were so personal and immediate,
I felt like the characters in his songs were hanging out in the studio
the whole time " TRACK LISTING: 1. ‘Stuck Between Stations’ 2. ‘Chips Ahoy!’ 3. ‘Hot Soft Light’ 4. ‘Same Kooks’ 5. ‘First Night’ 6. ‘Party Pit’ 7. ‘You Can Make Him Like You’ 8. ‘Massive Night’ 9. ‘Citrus’ 10. ‘Chillout Tent’ 11. ‘Southtown Girls’ THE HOLD STEADY is: Craig Finn (vox), Tad Kubler (lead guitar), Franz Nicolay (keys and other sonic treats) Galen Polivka (bass) and Bobby Drake (drums.)
