ANNOUNCE UK TOUR DATES FOR FEBRUARY 2007
(please note the brackets have been dropped from the band’s name)
Following the release of debut album “When Your Heart Stops Beating”, +44 announce UK tour dates for 2007 In September, former blink-182 members Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus introduced their new band to the UK with their second ever gig, to a sold-out crowd at London’s Astoria. During the following European promo dates it was discovered that Travis had been drumming with a broken arm for 3 weeks, which led to some rescheduling of the first leg of their American tour. Not one to be deterred, Travis has learnt the band’s set drumming with just one arm and the band are already back out on the road. Tickets go on sale on Friday 1st December for the following dates in February 2007. Album title-track “When Your Heart Stops Beating” will be released as a single at this time (exact date tbc).
http://www.myspace.com/plus44 / http://www.plusfortyfour.com/ Former blink-182 co-founders Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker have reunited under the aegis of a new band, +44, and released their much anticipated album, When Your Heart Stops Beating (Interscope Records), in November. The album is produced by Hoppus and Barker and executive produced by long-time blink-182 producer Jerry Finn. +44 played their debut European show (only their 2nd ever gig) at London’s Astoria to a packed-out crowd on 29th September. The gig sold out in 90 minutes! Recruited for their new journey as +44 – pronounced “Plus 44” – Shane Gallagher (The Nervous Return) and Craig Fairbaugh (Transplants, The Forgotten, Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards) join singer-bassist Hoppus and drummer-keyboardist Barker and pick up where the popular, multi-platinum-selling band blink-182 left off after splitting in late 2004. “We were two-thirds of blink-182, so we’re not afraid of sounding like ourselves,” says Hoppus. “We’re not divorcing ourselves from the past, but we are pushing beyond the past. We’re progressing like musicians should.” Barker agrees: “Mark and I have a natural chemistry after playing together for so long and it’s only gotten stronger. This band is a continuation of blink-182 but it’s also different. For a long time, blink-182 was an underdog. I like being the underdog again.” Barker has known Gallagher since they were 16 years old playing together in garage bands at Southern California backyard parties. Fairbaugh was another organic addition, having played with Barker in the now-defunct Transplants. “Musically, what we are doing now we could never have done a few years ago,” Barker says. “I love this band. And it’s even better that we’re doing this with friends. That’s the best feeling in the world.” Upon naming the band +44 after the international dialing code for the United Kingdom, their plan was simply to continue to create and explore. Barker put down his drums for six months and began piano lessons, bringing keyboards into the +44 sound and opening up his songwriting talent. For the first time, Hoppus took on all of the lead vocals and lyric-writing and even added guitar to his usual bass duties. “I had no idea what I was capable of, especially as a singer. There’s a whole range in my voice, from barely whispering to really loud. I’m proud of how far I’ve come.” +44 is not a side project or an experiment. Though Hoppus and Barker produce other artists and guest on numerous projects, +44 is #1 in their careers. Three years after the last original blink-182 album, +44 is the culmination of their surging energy and creativity. Hoppus continues to bring his expertise and passion as a producer of nascent bands. Among those he’s recently worked with are The Matches, Something for Rockets and the acclaimed punk-pop quartet Motion City Soundtrack. Since 2005 Hoppus has also actively produced his own podcast through the innovative website www.HiMyNameIsMark.com, spotlighting up-and-coming indie bands, playing new tracks, interviewing musicians and hearing their most outrageous tour stories. Formerly the drummer for blink-182, Box Car Racer and Transplants, Barker is one of the busiest musicians in rock n’ roll. He has also joined the industry’s premier spinner DJ AM for a residency at the Pure Club at Caesars Palace and select dates throughout the country. Barker has enjoyed recent hip-hop success with chart-topping production collaborations with T.I., former UGK member Bun B, Pharrell, Gwen Stefani and Bubba Sparxxx. Barker is the founder of his own recording label, La Salle Records, and clothing line, Famous Stars and Straps. “When Your Heart Stops Beating” is initially be released with 3 different coloured sleeves – blue, magenta and green. |

SINGLE ‘All We Know’ Released on December 11th 2006 Tennessee based 5-piece Paramore will release their single All We Know on December 11th through Fueled by Ramen records. This will be a download release only. The track is taken from their debut album ‘All We Know Is Falling’, which was released earlier this summer. The video for All We Know is comprised of live footage from the band’s US headlining tour this year. Paramore was born of the friendship between 17-year-old vocalist Hayley Williams and brothers Josh and Zac Farro (lead guitar and drums respectively) and is completed by bassist Jeremy Davis and guitarist Hunter Lamb. All precociously talented musicians, the kinetic rhythms and surprisingly intricate guitars provide the perfect foundation for Paramore’s infectious pop hooks and Hayley’s disarmingly honest vocals. Their live show is an explosion of high energy that showcases the band’s relentless drive and desire to connect with and entertain the audience, and their enthusiasm is catching. Having made their debut appearance in the UK earlier this year, at the Give It A Name festival, wowing UK audiences all over the country, Paramore returned to these fair shores for a sellout headline tour in October. They will be going into the studio in the early months of 2007 to record the follow-up album to this year’s All We Know Is Falling with producer David Bendeth (Hawthorne Heights, Breaking Benjamin). |

London based Ghosts met at school and have been together, in one guise or another, since they were just out of short trousers. Bestowed with the experience of a decade of musical noodlings and stealthy honing of their craft, Ghosts make music with a precise understanding of pop music and all its infinite nuances.
The first thing that strikes you is just how life enhancing their forthcoming debut album is. Tracks like ‘Stay The Night’ and the eponymous ‘Ghosts’ are vigorously inclusive pop music - its arms open wide. Talk to the band today and they will tell you how they wanted to create some of the very best pop music of all time, and they readily namecheck not only The Beach Boys, Elton John, and Fleetwood Mac but also Talk Talk and Spiritualized. Not that it’s all sunshine - Ghosts brood too, most exquisitely on the solemn ‘Further and Further Away’.

UNDEROATH
‘IN REGARDS TO MYSELF’ SINGLE RELEASE FROM NO. 2 BILLBOARD BAND On 27th November Virgin Records will release Underoath’s ‘In Regards To Myself’ single. Few post-hardcore bands have exploded onto the American mainstream as forcefully as Underoath. The sextet’s recent album, ‘Define The Great Line,’ entered the US Billboard charts at Number Two, shifting almost 100,000 copies in a single week. It has now sold almost three times that amount. Underoath’s online presence is even more impressive, with over 600,000 Myspace friends, and 8.4 million unique plays on Purevolume – all thanks to an obsessive, ever-expanding army of online fans. Underoath are Spencer Chamberlain, vocals; Aaron Gillespie, drums/vocals; Tim McTague, guitar; Chris Dudley, keyboards; Grant Brandell, bass; James Smith, guitar. They were formed in Tampa, Florida and met through the death metal and hardcore scene. ‘In Regards To Myself’ is the opening track from the band’s forthcoming album, ‘Define The Great Line’, which builds on the success of their 2004 album, ‘They’re Only Chasing Safety’. Where that album toyed with accessible melodies, their latest opus is a work of epic scope and grandeur. The band will arrive in the UK in November as part of the mammoth International Taste Of Chaos global tour, playing alongside Taking Back Sunday. The UK dates are: Friday 10 November Birmingham, UK NIA The album ‘Define The Great Line’ will be released in the UK in the new year. |
