The Haunts are a four piece band that hail from London and this EP shows that they are not afraid to diversify their sound and experiment.  This also means that they are likely to appeal to a much wider audience.  From real Indie kids to the most hardened dance fans, this band has something to offer to them all.

‘Love Is Blind’ is the first track from the EP. It has a dark edgy vocal sound but the overall track still manages to be bouncy, this is mainly due to the steady drum beat throughout.  The lyrics are really easy to learn as the chorus seems to be repeated plenty of times. A good opener.

‘Black Eyed Girl’ (Black Teeth Remix) is a great electro track, loads of synths mixed in with good guitars and drums and a haunting bit of vocal work.  A good remix.

‘Underground’ (L’Amour La Morgue Remix) has rappy undertones mixed with the electronic/dancy sounds.  A real pleaser for fans of many types of music.

‘Love Is Blind’ (Pics Plox Remix) A much more dance orientated mix of the title track of the EP.

The final track on the EP is the demo version of ‘Love Is Blind’ and this is my favourite version of this song.  It has a nice ‘raw’ sound to it with good clear backing and crisp vocal work from Banks.  It sounds like a straight up live recording with no twitching or tweaking.

They seem like a great band to catch live   8.5/10
