Standing outside the venue all I can hear is people going on about how much they’re all going to boo Buckcherry. However the main talk on everyone’s lips is obviously, Papa Roach. First act up tonight is In This Moment. I listened to a few of their songs on youtube before going to gig and had high expectations from them. However they didn’t pull it off. It probably didn’t help that you couldn’t hear singer, Maria Brinks, singing properly due to problems with her microphone. Although she did pull it off professionally and carried on doing her best to entertain the crowd, Maria seemed to be the only member of the band using the whole stage to try and give a better performance. Finally, they managed to get the microphone working for their biggest song, Beautiful Tragedy, and actually managed to get a few heads banging. Unfortunately, In This Moment didn’t do as well as expected. Next to take the stage is Californian band Buckcherry. Expecting the band to be given a hard time the crowd actually supported the band. As soon as they came on stage they were confident and had the crowd screaming in minutes. Within seconds there were the first moshpits of the night forming. Their catchy songs had people singing along and had the biggest reaction from their song “Crazy Bitch” where the whole room sang along to the lines “ Hey You're crazy bitch But you fuck so good, I'm on top of it When I dream, I'm doing you all night Scratches all down my back to keep me right on”. Unlike In This Moment Buckcherry actually used the stage to their advantage and got the crowd involved, and it clearly shows to be able to put on a good show it helps to get the crowd involved. Many people can’t wait for Papa Roach to take to the stage even though nobody can move where everyone is trying to get as close to the front to reach onto Jacoby. Not really being a fan of their newer stuff I wasn’t sure what I expected from this show, but I really wasn’t expecting such an amazing show ! They opened with ‘Change Or Die’ and I was regretting coming to the show, thinking it would be just their newer stuff, but as they played the song it didn’t matter if I didn’t like the song. The way they controlled the crowd and moved around made the song. All through the show the band moved accross the stage making sure everyone was getting just as good a view and enjoying themselves. They played many of their older songs such as ‘Getting Away With Murder’ to keep their older fans involved. At the “end” of their show the whole room were screaming for an encore and came back doing 3 more songs . The crowd erupted more than ever with moshpits in all parts of the room and singing louder than they did the whole night. Even though they had just played download the boys were still buzzing with energy! Even if you’re not a fan of Papa Roach I would highly recommend seeing them live!
