Florida’s experimental pop rock five piece VersaEmerge released their self titled EP in February 2009, its quite a change from the 2006 EP ‘Cities Built On Sand’ not least because they now have a female vocalist in the shape of Sierra Kusterbeck, after the departure of previous lead singer Spencer Pearson, the band also now have a more toned down and refined sound while still capturing that edgy dark and poppy vibe that made them so popular.

The intro track, titled ‘Theatrics’, is just that, a 39 second piece of wonderfully crafted music that sets the tone for the EP and showcase’s the sort of sound that VersaEmerge can deliver, its a track that would not feel out of place in a movie score.

On a couple of tracks "Whisperer" and "Clocks," Sierra Kusterbeck’s vocals are backed up by guitarist Blake Harnage, which works fantastically as his vocals really compliment hers and shows that this band is indeed full of talent.
"Past Praying For" shows the true range of Kusterbeck’s vocal range which despite her only being seventeen is outstanding and really pushes VersaEmerge to the next level.

This is a mind blowing EP of imesurable talent 10/10
