| Band Bio: |
Angel Falls was formed in early 2005, following several highly successful jamming sessions which the four future members arranged during the autumn of 2004. Ryan J. Bury, Paul Murphy and Sam Roberts had worked with each other in the past, and had been planning to form a new band together for several months, but despite jamming with various drummers, they had been unable to find a fourth member who really gelled with them, both creatively and personally. It was (guitarist) Paul Murphy who first brought the singer and bassist together with Lewis Saleh, and the foursome immediately hit it off. Keen to find out if the sound they had started to develop together could be brought successfully to the stage, they arranged to play several short sets at local events to put the music to the test. Following highly successful performances in small venues, played under different names, the band knew that the raw yet hauntingly melodic intensity of the sound they had created was something very special, and set about writing a full set of material. In May 2005, at a music festival nearby their home-town in West England, Angel Falls played their first full live performance, to massive crowd approval. Since
then, every show they have played has been approached with the same
enormous energy and musical intensity which the band generate whenever
they are together, and they continue to push harder with every performance.
Angel Falls never like to be pressed into trying to describe their sound,
but agree on one point: live music should be dynamic, intense and inspirational;
in the words of guitarist Paul Murphy, "Every song should be an
emotional journey." It's a maxim that is equally applicable to
the band's live performance, and perhaps that goes some way to explaining
why so many people who have seen them play would agree on one thing:
Angel Falls is one up and coming band which you must see.
