| Band Bio: |
ATTICA RAGE are a four piece band based in Glasgow, Scotland who merge heavy metal and groove-laden hard rock with a modern sound, attitude, energy and conviction. They have gained a strong reputation as a powerful live act and are one of the most promising bands in the UK heavy music scene. The band released their debut demo 'In My Dreams EP' in January 2004 and introduced ATTICA RAGE to the local gig circuit. Between October and November 2004, they recorded the 'In Concert with the Mirror' EP with Changer engineering and co-producing. He then joined the band as lead guitarist the following January and the EP was released in March 2005. ATTICA RAGE were selected from over 750 entries to perform at the T-Break 2005 Showcases at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in May 2005 and continued gigging around Scotland in many of the country's renowned live venues. Live highlights include supporting CONQUEST OF STEEL; headlining 'MAGNERS Best of Scottish Unsigned' in Edinburgh; headlining Glasgow's 'Dimebag Darrell Tribute Night' and appearing as special guests at the inaugural 'Raised Horns Fest' (Dimebag Memorial) in Stockport, near Manchester. The band also hosted their own live showcase event in association with MusicWorks International Cross-Media Music Industry Convention & Festival in September. They have received numerous features and positive reviews in national newspapers and international music press. Terrorizer magazine named them in a feature on the rise of upcoming UK power metal bands and Evening Times tipped them as 'one of the bands to watch in 2006'. Webzines such as Room 13, Power Metal UK and Scottish Music Network have all voiced their support of the 'Rage and they have found new fans throughout the world through their MySpace profile and other internet sites. Radio airplay has included BBC Radio 1 (Scotland), Beat 106 FM (now XFM Scotland), Pulse Rated and Fearless Radio (Chicago, USA). MetalNet Radio (Canada) voted the EP into the 'Top Ten Indie Albums of 2005'. The band also performed a live acoustic session and interview on FPR FM (Scotland) in December 2005. In January 2006, ATTICA RAGE were invited to perform a special full-band acoustic set at CELTIC CONNECTIONS Scottish music festival in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. This unique, unusual appearance was featured in Evening Times. Other major live dates during the year include supporting heavy metal legends SAXON and BLITZKRIEG, Roadrunner Records' BETZEFER and ARMORED SAINT (featuring former Anthrax vocalist John Bush) on the Scottish dates of their UK & European tours; a return to England for the Do-mini-on festival in Yorkshire, the Snooty Fox in Wakefield and a Halloween all-day fest in London; a special Edinburgh concert filmed for a future live DVD and the Pre-Show Party for Scotland's first real heavy metal festival, 'RAGNAROK UK METALFEST 2006' (GAMMA RAY, ELVENKING, PARAGON, SKYCLAD ), at which ATTICA RAGE are the only Scottish band to perform. The band's debut full-length album 'REACTIVATED' is due for release in late summer 2006 with an accompanying UK tour.
