The band formed in 1994 in Wichita Falls, Texas but soon relocated to Denton, Texas. At the time Three of the band members were attending Midwestern State University, and only ever had the intention of making music for fun. They released two albums on there own in Wichita Falls, their third album, 1997's Rock on Honorable One's !!, sold a whopping 10,000 copies on a tiny Denton based label. Their fourth album Tell me When to Whoa !! was also released on the Denton based FFROE Records, and featured The Bitch Song which got some local radio play, and led to a record deal with Jive Records.

After signing to Jive the bands career took off, in 2000 they released Lets Do It For Johnny and in 2002 released the album Drunk Enough To Dance , they have sold over 300,000 copies, and have had hit singles which include The Bitch Song, Punk Rock 101 and Girl All The Bad Guys Want. In 2003 they were nominated for a Grammy, in the best performance pop by a duo or group catagory for Girl All The Bad Guys Want. This really opened doors for them, and brought them to the wider publics eye, especially as they all wore pale blue tuxedos to the award ceromony and the front man Jaret stated 'now we are no longer known as the fat guys from Texas. Now we are the Grammy nominated fat guys from Texas'.

In 2003 they released the album A Hangover You Don't Deserve, which included the well known single 1985, which had a eyecatching video which included the guys dressed as 80's icons and even includes a scene with them all dressed as women. This band are going from strength to strength and have built up a huge global fan base. Anyone who has seen the band live cannot help but be impressed by their enthusiasm, their love of music and the fact that they love their fans just as much.
