Bernard Kelly got their name from a man named bernard kelly that roams the streets of Ilkley town. After countless conversations with Bernard it became apparent that he was a poet. He wrote the band (then unnamed) poems, which we used as song lyrics. We found it only fair to name the band after him. Since then, around a year ago, we have been known as Bernard Kelly.

Sadly on the 15th august 2005 bernard passed away. This has come as a shock, and we hope he rests in peace and we send him and his family our respects.
