After
a night of playing records to an empty club Ben realised that if he
were in a band at least he would be sharing the stage with some other
people. So he started learning how to play guitar. Then he called his
friend Tom (a big fat bass player) who had recently been kicked out
of a band for being too lazy. Tom recruited Lee O'Brien "the drummer"
(they had played in a covers band together a few years previously).
Unfortunately none of the three could sing and Ben couldn't play guitar
yet so some new recruits were
required. Luckily Ben hit the talent jackpot after placing an ad on
the live circuit forum and Steve the lead guitarist and backing vocalist
joined.
James
the singer joined too.
Their
first practice was a good laugh, with covers by David Bowie, the Pixies,
the Strokes and Oasis. Now all that was needed was a name. After: Last
Exit, the Tackleberrys, the 900's, the Evil Ernies, Deakins Wheels and
the Hungry Ghosts had all been ruled out James suggested Bullo Pill,
named after a village with a railway bridge. Nobody objected and so
the Mighty BULLO PILL was born.
