From the ashes of one band ignited the flames of another.

Beam and Lawrence were both heavily involved in a metal project named Metalhead, looking for another guitarist to add extra songwriting creativity and beef up the live sound. By good fortune, Dominic had a chance meeting with them, auditioned, and was hired as the second lead guitarist.

However, due to political differences with another band member, Lawrence, Dominic and Beam decided that the band just simply did not work and broke it up. Lawrence moved on to join another band while Dominic decided to put his own lineup together.

As Beam and Dominic had gelled so well together during Descent, they decided to start a new project. Subsequently they met Carl, jammed once and knew that he had found the second guitarist. Dominic then invited his vocalist brother Anthony to sing, the latter bringing the drummer of his other project into the band.

The first practice was held on Thursday the 17th of February and Chokehold was born.

However....after a week it was evident that the music was coming together rapidly, but what was needed was a drummer with intense speed and the power to cut through hundreds of watts of amplification. Luckily Lawrence had become immensely dissatisfied and decided to move on from his last project and wanted to audition for Chokehold. That audition lasted about thirty seconds; Lawrence was in.

Ant departed soon afterwards to concentrate on other projects and Graham was recruited on vocals, bringing a whole new dynamic to the band.

Chokehold shortly thereafter released a five track CD entitled 'Legion', an offer to sign with Casket Records soon following, which the band readily accepted.

Also, filming for their first video - Faith Of Fear' -was completed during late November with the talented team at Crooked House. The video is now being released worldwide.

During September and October 2005 the band teamed up with Headless Cross and Pitiful Reign to rampage the length and breadth of England on the 'Metal Thrashing Mad Tour', which proved to be a great success and an excellent time.

The band have now completed their album 'The Killing Has Begun', available in music stores from 17 April, and will hit the road throughout 2006, keeping it high, live and dangerous...
