Upload Are you looking forward to playing the festival today?
Enjoy Destroy Yea definitely. We’re really excited mainly because it’s home for two of us, and we’re quite well known in Guildford. Should be a really cool set to play. Plus Reuben and Hell is for Heroes are on the same bill!.
Upload Are you just spending the day at the festival or are you going to stay around all weekend?
Enjoy Destroy Unfortunately we can’t stay on Sunday because we’re playing in Trowbridge in the afternoon at a minifest, but I’m sure we’ll make the most of the time we have. We loved Guilfest last year, so why not?!.
Upload Are there any other bands that you are going to see during your time at Guilfest?
Enjoy Destroy Morcheeba will no doubt be amazing, but I think the Rocksound tent is where it’s at this year. HIFH and Reuben I’ve mentioned but I’d like to see Pull Tiger Tail live definitely.
Upload Your single ‘Mactier’ is released on Monday (16th July) and it is looking likely to be a huge success.  Are you excited about it all and have you received many reviews on it yet?
Enjoy Destroy It’s really exciting for us for sure. All I can say is that me and the boys are really proud of it and hope that everyone will indulge us!.
Upload Your soon to be released debut album was produced by Grant Nicholas better known as Feeders main man, what was it like working with him and how did it all come about?
Enjoy Destroy It all came about because to cut a long story short, Grant goes way back with our producer at the time, Brian. They were childhood friends. And when the opportunity arose we were told that Grant was looking for a young new band to work with, and co-produce an album. Naturally we said yes because… well who wouldn’t? He’s a really hard working bloke, quite reserved but innovative. He helped us initially with pre-production (pooling opinions to best mould songs into the best they can be) and on a couple of tracks he showed us some really quirky guitar sounds and effects. We got on really well, and he got the best out of us.
Upload How long has the band been together and how did it all start?
Enjoy Destroy Originally Freddie and our old drummer Matt had been in covers bands at school for 2 or 3 years at school, just kind of dossing around, then I joined (Ed) when we were about 14, and later Chris joined but as a singer. That didn’t work out so well so he became our guitarist. Trouble was Chris couldn’t play guitar so he had to learn as we went along. And now look at him. Last summer though, Matt left to travel the world, so we quickly drafted in Tommy and things began to go really well for us.
Upload What are the band members’ names and what are their roles?
Enjoy Destroy Me (Ed), I play bass guitar, Chris plays Lead Guitar, Tommy plays drums and Freddie is Vox and Guitar and Synth..
Upload What is the favourite gig you have played so far in your career?
Enjoy Destroy Probably Hyde Park Calling Festival, that was great. Awesome, in a word. We had a full tent, played well and had a warm reception. Felt really good, although I think the others would just talk to you about the buffet and the free massage backstage! I got a free haircut to be fair..
Upload Where do you see yourselves, career wise, this time next year?
Enjoy Destroy I’d like to think we would have done a couple of high profile tours amongst others. Above all I think we’d think it was awesome just to have a really loyal fanbase. That’s what every band wants right? .
Upload Which other bands do you admire and why?
Enjoy Destroy We all admire Reuben… and just so it doesn’t seem like we’re caressing their balls because we’re touring with them in September they were the first band I ever saw live. That’s my reason anyway. They’ve always turned out great tunes and they are amazing live. Other than them, Incubus, Silverchair, Kings of Leon. Too many to list.
Upload What other countries would you like to tour in?
Enjoy Destroy Germany is supposed to be really cool, and Japan. America’s a given to be honest. Which has the cheapest beer?.
Upload Do you prefer small, intimate club gigs or big open-air festivals?
Enjoy Destroy Both have their pros, like a huge gig like Hyde Park makes you feel really good and you can’t deny the adrenaline rush of the sound of 2000 people, there’s more room on stage. Smaller venues you can perhaps connect a little easier with the audience and it feels more intimate. To be honest though I do think we feel a lot more comfortable on a larger stage, don’t know why, maybe we’re a bit weird. But they’re all great.
Upload If you could swap places with someone for a day, who would it be and why?
Enjoy Destroy Peter Griffin.
