Infamy are a 4 piece band based in and around Glastonbury, UK. We play heavy melodic music murging the barriers between metal, grunge and alternative rock. We take influence from bands such as Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold and Silverchair. Our songs are a mix of heavy fast catchy riffs and slower heavy melodic sequences with a few slower more ballad like songs.
Since the band was started in mid 2001, we have progressed thorugh many different genres and tried out different members, one of which (Pete) is now our roadie. We spent about almost 2 years playing as a 3 piece (Matt - Bass/Vocals, James - Guitars/Backing Vocals and Alex - Drums) until we asked former Shindig bassist Sammy T to join us. This meant Matt would now play guitar. We played 3 gigs with Sam in late 2004 but all of us decided that it didnt feel right (he can now be seen playing in local band "Rehab"). We contemplated going back to being a 3 piece, but decided to ask a friend of ours (also called Sam) to play bass. This would allow Matt to stay on guitar and meant we could keep our big twin guitar sound which mixes Matt's rhythm and lead capabilities and James' melodic sequences and wierd effects. This coupled with Alex's driving drum rhythms and Matt's huge vocals in which he soars through melody lines and screams the roof down makes us confident that in time we can become one of the best bands in the area (hopefully).
