| Band Bio: |
Short Warning, a technical melodic pop-punk outfit from London and Buckinghamshire, was formed in late 2001, when twin brothers Nick (bass) and Gareth (drums) met guitarist Carl. Having mainly played locally as a three-piece for several months, the band recorded two self-funded EPs in 2002, "Right Mistakes" and the follow-up "Lights Out", the latter of which was laid down with Iain Wetherwell. 2003 saw Short Warning break out of their local circuit, playing shows up and down the country, before entering a Surrey studio in 2004 for the recording of the three-track Take Aim EP. This release not only brought them to the attention of various zines: apart from receiving airplay on Londons XFM radio station, a track was added to the Punktastic Recordings compilation Unscene, and Big Cheese magazine gave the band an introducing feature. In early 2005, guitarist Calum was added to the line-up, and Short Warning continued to gig as much as possible. Another five-track EP was recorded later that year which contains their best material yet: From a band that sounded like it had a ton of potential but hadnt quite realised it, theyve come back with a CD that is as promising a UK pop-punk CD since the Fastlane album. [] I quite hoped this would be good, but I didnt expect it to be this good. (Punktastic). Having reviewed a Short Warning EP before, this is definitely a step up in class, and could well lead to a lot more people liking this band. (Mammoth Press) Well constructed songs and well mastered (Punknews). Having already secured a full-time manager and booking agent thanks to their latest offering, the band have also had interest from record labels in the UK and abroad and are currently working on new material to complete their debut album.
