State
Warning have been together since early 2005, when lead singer &
songwriter Matt put an advert in NME to find talented musicians to form
a band. The response was overwhelming, with people traveling from all
around the country to be a part of this anonymous yet interesting project.
Matt auditioned and selected his final four band mates and they’ve
spent the last 12 months gelling and jamming. The result so far has
been tremendous.
Already,
the guys have toured around the UK on radio road shows and support slots
with household names, including Texas, Son of Dork and the Bootleg Beatles,
and they currently have headline dates lined up for the Carling Academy
venues this summer. Their current tracks are being played on the internet,
and on regional radio, while the guys are busy in the studio writing
and recording new material. They already have a huge following of teenage
girls around the country, which is due to various members being in other
bands before joining State Warning.
The
band’s musical influences vary, but are mostly rock orientated,
with a little splash of pop. Favourite artists include Bon Jovi, Green
Day, Simple Plan, Guns n Roses, Robbie Williams and Jimi Hendrix amongst
others. These influences can be heard in original songs such as the
catchy crowd favourite ‘Paranoid’ and a credible cover of
the Buzzcocks hit ‘Ever Fallen In Love’.
This
year State Warning hope to continue a string of regional promotional
tours, building up their fan base, and introducing their music to a
wider audience. Look out for them soon at a town near you.
