Prior to their appearance on the second stage on Friday at this year’s Download Festival we did a quick interview with Richie Edwards, the Guitar player and Vocalist from Stone Gods. Check out what he had to say to us.

Up-load	You have been booked to play the second stage at the Download festival this year. Are you looking forward to it and how did the booking come about ?
Richie	We’re so excited to be playing Download. Donington is, without doubt, the home of the rock festival, there’s so much history there and we’re honoured to be on the bill this year.
Up-load	When did you know you were playing ?
Richie	It was just over a month ago, then we had to bite our lips for what seemed like an age until we could announce it.
Up-load	Will you be spending the whole weekend at the festival?
Richie	Unfortunately we cant, we’re playing the Isle Of Wight festival the day after so we’ve got to make our way there .
Up-load	Is there anyone else you are looking forward to seeing at the festival?
Richie	Judas Priest, absolute fuckin’ legends!!.
Up-load	Have you been to Download before?
Richie	I went to Donington a few times in the 80’s to the Monsters Of Rock festivals and they were just awesome. I went along to Download in ’06 and I was really chuffed that they’ve managed to keep the vibe of those original Donington shows .
Up-load	What other bands would you like to share the stage with past or present?
Richie	AC/DC (with Bon Scott), Queen (with Freddie), Led Zeppelin (original line up) .
Up-load	Have any of you ever had a stalker or over obsessive fan ?
Richie	Our fans are awesome, we’ve never had any problems
Up-load	What has been the highlight of your career so far ?
Richie	I think that would have to be our first tour. We did a trip round the UK in January and had a fucking blast.
Up-load	If you hadn’t been in a band, what do you think you would have done with your life career wise?
Richie	I quite fancy being a plumber, there’s a lot of money in plumbing these days!!
Up-load	If you could change places with anyone for a day – who would it be and why?
Richie	My girlfriend Katie, just to see how much of a pain in the ass I really am to live with.
