Unhinged?
Well, hotly tipped Manchester indie-rock band Thai Bride are described
as 'moody and broody', 'off kilter' and 'refreshingly weird'. With topics
ranging from the desperation of domestic violence to the minutia of
imprisoned hedgehogs, it's not hard to see why. Thai Bride's brutal
live sound track provides a powerful backbone to the cathartic delivery
of maverick front man Ricky's everyday tales of Northern life. After
playing their debut single 'Non Contact Sports', BBC GMR radio's Terry
Christian mused, 'it's nice to finally hear lyrics I can relate to'.
Tasty Fanzine said, "Excellent nonsense of the highest level."
Unpeeled Webzine 2005... "Moody, broody, modern and pretty damn
good. Glam sneering over an electro-tech garage rock thingy, Pulp with
muscles? First-stage Roxy Music taking Suede out for the night? Doesn’t
really matter as they are more their own monster than a stitched up
bag of bolts. Listen, learn and love." High Voltage ..."Thai
Bride marries together intriguing subject matters and witty refrains."
Graham, Manchester's Blowout Scene ..."Good innit"
