Prior to their appearance on the second stage on Friday at this year’s Download Festival we did a quick interview with Charlotte Cooper , the vocalist and bass player from The Subways . Check out what she had to say to us.

Up-load You have been booked to play the second stage at the Download festival this year. Are you looking forward to it and how did the booking come about ?
Charlotte

We're so excited to be playing Download! We love festival season, and thrive on performing in front of festival crowds. I think a lot of people at Download may have not seen us live before, and I hope they are pleasantly surprised.

Up-load When did you know you were playing ?
Charlotte

We found out a couple of months back now. Its always good to play festivals we've never played before, and we're excited about playing a festival with such a, "rock" reputation.

Up-load Will you be spending the whole weekend at the festival?
Charlotte

Unfortunately no...we have NASS on the saturday.

Up-load Is there anyone else you are looking forward to seeing at the festival?
Charlotte Rival Schools are on right after us...they're a great live band, will be ace to see them again.
Up-load Have you been to Download before?
Charlotte

Never been...im excited!

Up-load What other bands would you like to share the stage with past or present?
Charlotte

We've been lucky enough to support some amazing bands like Foo Fighters, Oasis and Taking Back Sunday. I'd love to play with Muse or Biffy Clyro.

Up-load Have any of you ever had a stalker or over obsessive fan ?
Charlotte

Not in a bad way! Some of our fans travel crazy distances to see us: all the way from the UK to Australia....UK to LA!.

Up-load What has been the highlight of your career so far ?
Charlotte We recently recorded our second album, "All or Nothin" in LA with Butch Vig. He's one of the most amazing people we've ever met and he's worked with bands that made us want to be a band, like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth. The 2 and a half months we spent over there were absolutely amazing, and we've come out with an album that we're really proud of.
Up-load If you hadn’t been in a band, what do you think you would have done with your life career wise?
Charlotte

I would have gone to university, but after that who knows?!

Up-load If you could change places with anyone for a day – who would it be and why?
Charlotte I think it would be cool to be Dave Grohl for the day. I think I'd learn a lot! Also...he's funny and I'm not. I'd like to know what it's like to be funny...and to be a boy!

Now for a few silly random questions ......
