Once Over kicked off the proceedings with their mish-mash
of thrash and ska. It's decidedly difficult both to headbang and to
skank to their music. Bursting with more energy than a sugar factory
the whole band leapt about and got the crowd nicely warmed up. They
were fast, brutal and also sounded good.
Next up were Bang bang bang, who are probably very nice people so I
feel rather bad saying their music was really terrible. I mean really
terrible. Sample song: *shouted* "MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY,
FRIDAY, SUNDAY, SATURDAY!". They're more of an art-rock type band
than anything to do with punk as you or I would know it. At least the
band seemed to be having fun. The audience as a whole didn't seem to
approve. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time is my diagnosis for
Bang bang bang.
However all is forgiven soon enough. Jack Terricloth and his band of
merry men and women took to the stage and stole everyone's attention
shamelessly. Jack's somewhat flirtatious and funny yet mysterious manner
had people's eyes glued to the stage. Of course, where would World/Inferno
be without their amazing band with Lucky ripping amazing solos from
his guitar every song. Their set included songs from every Inferno era,
including some off their latest offering Addicted to Bad Ideas. They
played right up to the curfew but still left the crowd wanting more.
9/10 (cos I'm not letting Bangbangbang ruin my gig)
