Since November, the word of the Profile Festival, held at Aylesbury Civic Centre has spread around like crazy, leading this event of local talent to sell out completely.

After a ten minute delay, the doors open and people start flooding in. Fifteen minutes later, local hard rockers MEDIUMdave take to the stage with their brand of post hardcore, rock and pop punk. They open with a blistering rendition of Hall Of The Mountain King and rip through modern classics of theirs such as 'Stolen Youth', 'Inside' and their almighty closing song 'Fist for You'. The question upon my mind was, what the hell are they doing opening this thing!? A brilliant set from MEDIUMdave.

Andensum are the next band on. While they may seem oddly out of place on this 'chock-fulla-emo' bill, they certainly keep the metal heads in the audience happy with their mixture of classic and progressive metal, showing hints of Tool and Iron Maiden at times. The band have two excellent vocalists at hand and despite what was said earlier, they go down surprisingly well and get a sterling mosh pit going. Another memorable Profile set!

The third band to hit the main stage is Daytime Roleplay who pull in the biggest crowd so far, which seems to mainly consist of school friends. They dive into a set of screamo which sweeps nigh on 500 people off their feet. I could complain that I am not a fan of this genre in particular, but being as this is what the bill consists of, I best not complain. Sterling set if Screamo/Emo is your bag.

Ah, this is more like it. OutCryFire stampede onto the stage and burst into their furious title track and send the crowd absolutely fucking mental! The band basically plays the whole of their demo, conveniently entitled 'OutCryDemo'. The band does not ask for mosh pits, they demand them. They even urge the crowd to be even more violent, causing several people I know to get elbowed in the head around six times! A brutal set from these Buckinghamshire metallers, we expect to see more from this band in the future.

Heft, a rap/funk/rock band from the area is next up. Their infectious grooves and great guitar work goes down a treat with the crowd, but their only fault seems to be that all of their songs seem to possess the same formula, which to be honest, gets rather dull after a couple of songs, but funnily enough, the crowd are really into them and the band get the best reaction yet. An average but crowd pleasing set.

Out Of Sight are 6th on the bill, their brand of no thrills emo sets of Aylesbury Civic Centre like a detonated bomb, they send the crowd insane, though I fail to see why. The dullest set of the day and the worst band on the bill.

After thirty minutes of uninspired shit, it's time for one of the best bands on the bill, Dr. Slaggleberry, a metal/rock/funk band from Chinnor. This band was the band that everyone wanted back from the last Profile, so I had high hopes. And they were certainly fulfilled. The band opens with 'Grum Ruballer', the opening track from their demo. This band is crazy and obviously extremely talented to play complicated music such as theirs, where the time signature changes often. The band plays fan favourites such as 'Keneticism', the amusing track 'Bird Flu' and closing with the epic story 'Scuttle Claw'. The band put on a brilliant set and I wait to see them live again! Due to me needing to be somewhere else, I miss Tonight Is Goodbye and Skirtbox, but from what I hear, they were fucking brilliant and I hope to see them again soon.
