Due to popular demand the venue tonight is packed out. We wait patiently for the bands to gives us our money's worth. And didn't we fucking get it! It would be front page scandal for me to bad mouth any of the bands performing tonight, as that would be a complete lie.
First up, Reggie and the Full Effect. They put up a pretty good fight With tonights audience. They may have not been a crowd stirrer but with a bigger following there would have been. I think they will be destine for success.
Up next:
Rise Against. Great mic-swinging action. Such amazing vocals. They have a
devoted following, even though there are few here. With lighter wielding crowds
during the acoustic track 'Swing Life Away' adding to some of the highlights
of the night. And thus to the theme of Star Wars the rapid whirlwind Story
of the Year erupt onto the stage.
Two things: Abso-fucking-lutly amazing. With onstage acrobactics, and Guitars
literally flying, this set was immense. No bad words to be said for them.
You can tell they've done this before, ripping right through without breaking a sweat.
And so we move along to Killswitch Engage, who were a brilliant surprise. I'm not even a fan and I enjoyed this. With a light show to contend with Blackpool lights, and to hurt my eyes, they were amazing. Join by a friend on guitar and Bert McCracken (The Used) on vocals for one song, they totally lighten up the room. Much love to the guys for that.
And now the moment I've been waiting for The Used!! Words, words. I need words to be able to describe this. Darn, There aren't any, apart from maybe Absolute amazingness. Bert's stage presence does wonders for his vocal performances, and he didn't throw up once.
Last but
not least Funeral for a Friend, Great! The whole crowd seemed completely unified
for just this one band, but with having to cut this set for me short just
so I could get home I have some last things to say. If Story of the Year do
a tour you should go see them, they are amazing live, and it will be well
worth it if you are a fan. I was fucking awake, they didn't have to keep asking.
And will I remember this my whole life, hell yes.
