"Silence, with a hint of tinittus" as Dan P Carter once said - never a truer word spoken, my ears are still ringing.
So the twat on the door stole my water bottle, I had a bad throat and a sprained neck, nothing's gonna stop me HEADBANGING!
GHOST OF A THOUSAND throw themselves about the stage like kids who ate all the blue smarties, their music is great and they are certainly entertaining for a while. They really get the crowd warmed up for...
SEND MORE PARAMEDICS the zombie-core crew. Wearing more make up than the entire crowd, with blue painted faces, ripped jeans, and great jokes to stir a mosh pit up like "we're the stiffs, not you!". With well crafted songs, a tight performance, and lyrics about eating brains and sundry gory things; they are certainly ones to watch out for! Just watch out, I think that IS B'Hellmouth's real blood pouring from his lip unless I am proved otherwise.
Oh how pleased I am to see Daniel P Carter again, albeit not with "A". THE LUCKY NINE are not just a side project band - they're a BLOODY AWESOME side-project band. I have to admit I'd heard one song before the night, but the rest of the set left nothing to be desired but some water and a sit down.
Water and a sit down was not what I got unsuprisingly, this is the Meanfiddler, not Starbucks. Hardcore...
After the world's longest intro music the first configuration of THIS IS MENACE appear on stage, and unleash a metal monster upon the crowd. Headbanging is not an option, it's a must. I must admit, I had not heard any of the bands from which the members come, but you don't need to. This is not a covers band, and no ordinary supergroup either; don't underestimate. With various member swapping in and out, and playing several different ones, it is clear to see the sheer talent that has gathered here tonight. B'Hellmouth of Send More Paramedics appears onstage again to provide vocals for my favourite song 'Sarcophagus'. I can't remember the rest of the song names... having too much fun.
So moshpits galore and hair and beer and blood everywhere... my kinda show! \m/
